Amino Acid For neurological symptoms

The pic I sent was from the Fitbit app when used with a “Charge 3”. When you click on a single night it gives you the first image which has the different sleep spindles shown (light, rem and deep sleep).

And it’s got ‘‘awake’’ too. I’ll know how many times I wake up in a night.

Thanks, I’ll get it.

How has sleep been? Have you ever tried a night with no medication just to see what a baseline would be? I know that sounds crazy but I recently did a sleep study and took NO meds. I couldn’t believe that I actually slept a couple hours. It was a total mess of a night with crazy nightmares but I ended up feeling really good the next day from not taking any sleep drugs. I haven’t really been able to replicate that as I always feel like I need to not risk having a crap day. I “think” my sleep has marginally improved in the last 5 months. I hope it continues to improve. I have been working on neurogenesis as I think we need to just heal the brain.

Hi Shellnyce

A night with no medication means benzodiazepine withdrawal with anxiety and spams. I’m not curious enough to go through that pain and the few days to get back from it. Your case is different. You were careful to cycle through medicine and not build up tolerance and your sleeping drug is not as addictive as mine.

At this point, I had to increase Benzo from 3.0 to 3.125 mg, Hydroxyzine from 10 to 12.5 mg and I have to supplement with a variety of sleeping herbs I’m cycling through.

I get the best results with 800 mg of Valerian extract, 200 mg of Lemon Balm extract and 400 mg of Passion flower. I get 7 hours of straight sleep and 1 hour of toss around. I`m waiting for Hops extract as altogether it’s a well recognize combination.

I also tried Kava Kava extract 1000 mg, Magnolia extract 1600 mg and Silexan 60 mg with good, but unreliable results. Kava Kava does not mix well with Lemon Balm. Magniola, aside from being an hypnotic herb, lowers Cortisol and Nor-Ephedrine as well as boost GABA.

Tonight, I’m taking 120 mg of Silexan.

One thing I have to be careful about is to not spike insulin in the last 4 hours before sleep.

My next step is to see an acupuncturist and Chinese herbal medicine doctor and try a treatment.

Something I’d like to do is go to a Daniel Amen clinic and get a brain scan. He’s very knowledgeable about neuro-chemistry and could help, based on the scan, without knowing anything about pfs (and maybe he does know). After all, the results of pfs shows on the scan. He’s in the US.

Hey @Ozeph… When I tried KAVA… I noticed that the more you drink… the heavier the effect has on you. Its some type of reverse tolerance.

Other than that… how have things been going. You have been quiet so I’m hoping thats a good sign.

cheers

A word of advise: That’s a deadly dangerous combination. KAVA mixed in alcohol causes irreversible liver damage and you may need liver transplant within a month of use or die.

Dozens of death have been attributed to this and it has made KAVA illegal in Canada and most EU countries.

Try a mix of 800 mg of Valerian, 400 mg of Lemon Balm, 400 mg of Passion flower, 400 mg of Hops extracts (they’re all extracts) along with 3 mg of melatonin . You should sleep like a baby.

I’m waiting for my Oleamide and will try 1000 mg for sleep. I’m also trying chines herbs and consider trying acupuncture.

@Ozeph I never mixed Kava with booze. I only tried Kava a half a dozen times or so. I dont think I’ll be drinking it ever again to be honest. I went to a sort of dietician last week and she wants me to try a certain type of CBD. Turns out she has severe insomnia so she knows the struggle. I havent bought the CBD yet because its so expensive. Like $150 for a little dropper of the stuff. If it works i would be so happy. I guess we will see. I’ll be interested to hear your results with Oleamide.

Good idea. I’m being suspicious of Kava plus the results are not that great.

Tell how it goes with CBD oil. I’ve been wanting to try it but it may take a while before it comes to Thailand (It’s been approved by parliament 6 months ago)

I’ll keep you informed about Oleamide results.

is gaba supplement safe? im willing to take gaba neurotransmitter support from NOW. also tribulus from platinum. im new here and i dont know much about amino acids so it would be nice if someone make a simple list about what supplement + drugs + amino acids to take

Dont waste your time with supplements (thats my opinion). There are people here who crashed from taking a multivitamin. GABA is a waste of time. I took GABA and it did nothing except it gave me air hunger on a couple of occasions which is really scary. Tribulus has helped some with ED related stuff. My opinion is to eat healthy and exercise and give it time. I take a probiotic and a high quality fish oil. Most of my issues are neurological (vision, head pressure, insomnia) . Hope this helps.

CBD didnt do much for me and I took a really expensive high grade oil. 1314mg in 1 oz. Full spectrum.

Well so much for CBD oil…

Hi mmff

I would concur with Shellnyce, at least to some degree. I like my 5-HTP, L-Dopa and L-Tyrosine but I know it’s not for everyone. Sex herbs do help somewhat but ketogenic diet helps more in the long run, in my opinion.

GABA doesn’t cross the brain barrier unless you have a leaky one. I tried it and got negative results from it.

Lack of GABA is also the key, IMO, to many neurological symptoms and contributes, again IMO, to the sexual ones

Here’s a guide on how to lower Glutamate and increase GABA:

https://www.jacobsladdercenter.com/doc/research/other/How-to-Increase-GABA-and-Balance-Glutamate.pdf

And here’s my condensate of it, for pfs people:

Here’s my condensate on this:

Take and do:
• Animal protein and fat
• Ketogenic diet favor GABA and GAD
• Mackerel has high GABA
• Eating Organic
• Taurine increase GAD and binds to GABA Rec.
• Magnesium (Also activates GABA Rec.)
• Zinc (no more than 40 mg)
• Probiotics
• Vitamin D (Easy on it)
• Vitamin K (leafy greens have huge amounts of it)
• Vitamin B6
• Lithium (I take only 2 mcg a day)
• Iodine
• Boron
• Chlorella Blue-Green Algae to detoxify
• 5-HTP or Trytophan (these would help with depression and fear of crowds. They give confidence)
• Keeping blood sugar leveled
• Adequate Sleep

Don’t Take, Don’t do:
• Glycine
• Glutamate
• Glutamine
• Cysteine
• Theanine
• Casein (Cheese)
• Aspartame (sweetener)
• MSG
• Calcium (be careful)
• Glutathione (be careful)
• Beware of Candida guts and mouth infection (use mouth wash and take probiotics.)
• Sugar, whole grain, Starch
• Caffeine, Chocolate
• Food that spikes Insulin
• Artificial flavor, color, sweeteners, additives.
• Pesticide, Herbicide, Heavy Metals , perfume, dish soap, laundry soap
• Benzodiazepine
• Hydrolyzed food, creamers, Yeast, Collagen, Carragenine, Guar Gum or any Gum, chia seeds, Malt, Soy.
• Whey protein, Sport Protein Shake, Branch Chain Amino Acids.
• Processed Meat
• Tomato Juice

CBD is different for everyone. I think you should try it. What I did notice… is now 2 days after trying CBD for sleep… my heart rate has normalized. No weird arythmias our pounding in the chest. Not sure if its related but if it is, I will start taking CBD in the mornings at work for some of the neurogenesis effects. There are a couple people who swear it knocks them right out for sleep. Give it a shot… maybe it will help you lower some of the other sleep stuff.

What potency did you buy?

They just past the law decriminalizing it 6 months ago. It will be a while before we have it available here.

If it works for some, I’ll try it when I can get my hand on it.

here is excellent for everybody!!
I appreciate you on what you’ve done here.
I’ve tried some supplements for2weeks.arginine citrulline theanine zinc lysine maltivitamin and so on.
And I have had a little improvements(even though this was placebo)…
There is a certain substance I want to take. That is baking soda. Some said this led to (temporary or not)recovery.I watch your experience, but there is no information of baking soda.If you’ve tried this, please tell me what happened to you.
Now I have symptoms such as muscle wasting, muscle twitch, sleep problems(awake so early),a little brain fog, myodesopsia.
thank you

I didn’t try baking soda so I don’t have info on that one.

However, brain fog, muscle twitch are in my opinion signs of high Glutamate and low GABA. Ketogenic diet has been used to treat epilepsy and spasm for 120 years. Of all I did, the best was to eliminate carbs and replace them with animal fat.

Try reducing carbs gradually and see if you feel better. I’ve read lots of people of this forum gets results from lowering carbs. (you need to eat more healthy fat to get your calories)

I tried zero carbs, normal carbs, low carbs, and my sweet spot is around 30-50 gr of carbs, in the morning only and not everyday; around 150 gr a week. (and by carbs, I mean a single small portion of healthy carbs like oatmeal, potatoes or jasmine rice.)

Note that I have been ketogenic for 14 months. My body is more used to using fat than carbs for energy. Maybe someone has to go ketogenic for a while before being able to eat such small amount of carbs and not feel deprived. I’m guessing but I don’t know.

I have a heart beat monitor watch. My heart beat actually go down by 5 bpm when I’m having a little carbs.

thanks
What I watched is that baking soda affects liver and other organs by increasing alkali ratio of blood. I don’t know clearly, but I wonder if this motion is related to your opinions.
Do you think low carbs diet is the most effective to make low glutamine&highGABA?
If there is other ways, I want to know them.
And,should I get tribulus to recover? What do you think?
yea, I know this is risky way…but I can’t wait for time to cure me…

I cycle Tribulus and Horny goat Weed as well as Pine Pollen (which doesn’t have much effects).
After 9 months, I got back my body odors. Horny Goat was the only one to do it at first, then to a lesser extend Tribulus did it as well and I recently started having them back without plant supplements, although very faint. It’s meaningful because we get body odors at puberty. Losing it means losing something that happened at puberty, like a lot of what is lost to pfs.

I’ll try baking soda and see if it helps with my sleep. I’m not a good test subject, I barely have any symptoms left but I have to keep a strict discipline to stay that way. I don’t think I’m cured.

As for Glutamate and GABA, check the Aug 8 post above. It’s got a whole article on the subject as well as a condensed version I made for myself (and shared with others). And yes, I believe a low carbs diet, or more specifically a ketogenic or carnivore diet is the safest, surest way to achieve higher GABA and lower glutamate. Read the article and google it. I’m not the only one to think it does that. I believe it’s what helped me the most.

Although I can’t prove it, I’ve read scientific articles that hints at the Beta-HydroxyButyrate produced by the body while in ketosis, in synergy with Butyrate found in butter and ghee (which I eat a lot of) and in relationship to pyruvate as being protective or even repairing epigenetic damage. I don’t know if it affects damage done by pfs, but it’s been my experience that the diet is keeping me symptom free and fully functional, mentally and sexually.

Try the safe things first. I suggest the diet ! If you do go for baking soda, start at low dosage and slowly increase. Disrupting blood PH can cause you to fall in a coma and even die so better be safe than sorry.

I wish you the best of luck. Life is already difficult as it is, nobody needs pfs on top of that.
But it’s like they say: what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger (well, at least it strengthened the character if not the body)

I can’t help appreciating you…
I will never fail to be careful to supplements, and try as less carbs as possible.
After that,I will try tribulus, baking soda.
And do you think I should cycle amino acids?
I heard taurine is effective on pfs,but this effects didn’t keep on.If other aminos so, I should cycle these, I think.
