alcohol

Guys. The increased sexual arousal is not a PFS phenomenon. There is a thread about it on MESO RX and in general, a lot of people are horny the day after drinking.

Fair point. I think I was too. Glad to know atleast something is as it was though !

In my opinion 1 of 2 things.

  1. Alters allopregnenolone metabalism.
  2. Suppresses the immune system.

I still continue to get this. How to fix 1 or 2 then, please Tim?

Man I wish this method was foolproof. It would give me a reason to drink again regularly, and lately Iā€™m thinking I may do just that. Well, sort of. The other day I had a friendā€™s party to go to, and I had been in a funk for about a week or two. Very depressed, very brain fogged, junk looking terrible, so on and so forth. I lifted weights somewhat furiously in the afternoon before his party, as it was one method that kick-started a semi-recovery for me in the past, hoping to duplicate those results so as to enjoy the social occasion. Well, it didnā€™t seem to have much effect on me, or perhaps it was a delayed effect, but that night I ordered a single beer with dinner and itā€™s as though the alcohol was able to somehow effectively convert the testosterone I had built up a few hours earlier. Let me emphasizeā€¦ one beer, nothing to the point of intoxication. The next two days (with the exception of sleepā€¦ although I did have several dreams during those two nights, which I donā€™t do a whole lot these days) were very wonderful for me. My nocturnal and morning erections were raging (first time Iā€™ve had to hold my penis down while peeing in a very long time), my brain fog had mostly melted away, my energy levels were up, and I found myself smiling, joking, laughing, and generally feeling and enjoying life. There is no doubt in my mind the alcohol caused this period of improved well-being. Question is, how can I make that sustainable?

Sorry for bumping such an old thread but in my case alcohol definitely helps. Drinking everyday is not the healthiest way to improve your life quality and it makes you struggle in the next morning at work but definitely helps with the mental sides. Or maybe itā€™s psychological I donā€™t know, always been a regular drinker.

Chronic heavy drinking reduces folate levels and inhibits methionine synthase (MS), resulting in the reduction of methionine and SAM and the concurrent increase in homocysteine and S-adenosylhomocysteine (SAH). SAH further inhibits DNA methyltransferases (DNMTs), ultimately resulting in global hypomethylation of DNA.

I noticed same thing. I want out 3 times during pfs and got drunk in the morning I woke up with rock hard wood.

Very interesting, alcohol is giving me strong postiive effects too

I had a glass of red wine (Chilean Cabernet Sauvignon) last night with some people when we went out for dinner. This morning I woke up with a very high libido. It feels as if the locus of libido is centred upon the head of the penis. Usually the penis doesnā€™t seem connected to the libidal urge (if itā€™s ever present).

Erectile function was excellent. Glans were fully engorged with blood, penis was thick and hard.

This shows that these symptoms are reversible, even if temporarily if the chemical balance is tampered with for a brief time. FYI Iā€™ve suffered from PFS for almost three years.

Alcohol sadly seems to crash me, or at least getting drunk does. I got drunk last month and had a really bad couple of days in terms of symptoms, got back up to my baseline and was feeling about 50-60% again and not really thinking about PFS.
Then I got drunk two nights ago and now Iā€™m back in the swamp.
Probably just going to have to go teetotal for a few years at least.

So you can get drunk and get the ā€œhighā€ feeling from alcohol? For many of us alcohol doesnā€™t make any effect, only worsening fatigue and nauseous. Thatā€™ s how it is with me too.

Has anyone been able to regain the ability to get drunk? Really miss being able to party with my friends to the fullest extent.

Update: whiskey has crashed me the last few times but last night I had 3 glasses of red wine and woke up feeling fine, retained my baseline and no effect either way. This was also the case when I had red wine last summer. Iā€™m glad I can seemingly drink something without feeling worse.

3 years off live a healthy lifestyle, fit in good shape etc. Have taken many months OFF alcohol and then return back to alcohol, unfortunately no change at all I feel nothing when I drink alcohol.
