2x Recovery Story - various natural supplement methods

I believe zinc can help a bit as I have felt slightly better sexually on it. But obviously nowhere, nowhere near recovery.

I would instead put zinc in as something that, like vitD, if you take while on fin will reduce side effects substantially.
After you crash it’s too late.

Maybe a stupid question but… how long should I take Zinc for? I know to much zinc can harm your body… when I took it, I would take it for 2 weeks… Now that I think about it… Once in a while my sexual function would be better if I took a pill an hour before I knew I was going to have sex… but this could be totally in my head…idk if it would even work that fast or get absorbed that fast. If anything It might have helped me get more excited.

Yes but if you have zinc deficiency you also likely have copper toxicity. This is a complex problem that needs to be nutted out with a hair mineral analysis or at least a competent naturapath or anti aging doctor.

You need zinc in your body for good health. Period.

From what ive heard zinc is absorbed pretty quick. This is why you’re meant to take natural sexual enhancers about an hour before sex. I too get days where I can really feel zinc helping with erections.

How long to take zinc for? Until you can taste it on a zinc taste test. How much to take? About 50mg per day is pretty standard and you will also want to take a small amount of copper - 1 or 2 mg…

Update. Im doing the hair mineral analysis tonight so that should be ready in a few weeks.

This morning I vomited for now reason at all. I wonder if I am going too high on zinc now? Or temporarily too low on copper? Could be somthing completely unrelated.

I did the zinc taste test again last night and still nothing. So it is telling me I am still zinc deficient.

Here is a link from someone that PM’d me showing that copper may be a more potent 5AR inhibitor than Finasteride. Sorry to the guy who PM’d it to me, but again, the guys need to see this so we can move forward and rule things in or out.

reverseskinaging.com/antiandrogens1.html

“Sugimoto et al (Sugimito 1995) found that copper ion is a potent inhibitor of 5-alpha reductase, inhibiting both types of 5-alpha reductase (both type 1 and type 2) that produce DHT and is the only metal to do so. Copper ion inhibits (50% reduction in activity) type 1 alpha reductase at 1.9 micromolar (0.12 micrograms copper ion per milliliter) and type 2 alpha reductase at 19.2 micromolar (1.2 micrograms copper ion per milliliter). No other metal has these effects.”

I’m a little confused here, why would someone take copper if they had copper toxicity? I feel like when I was taking zinc, my sperm quality was better, but thats about it… no change in libido… i’m going to start taking the 50mg of zinc again… how can I check to see if i have a zinc difecency.

Toadstool, you need a small amount of bioavailable copper as it is required in the synthesis that removes copper. It sounds backwards, but it’s true. 1 or 2 mg per day is all you need and you can get from health food shops or possibly online. You can check if have zinc deficiency by doing a zinc taste test from a pharmacy. Even better is a hair mineral analysis.

Okay, what youre saying does make sense. Im kind of torn between doing the hair test or goign to see Crisler… The hair test is much less expensive, thats for sure…cost isnt a concern but im kind of limited right with cash. I do believe what you and letsconv are trying to say here, I think it may play a large role in why we are like this…

Honestly that’s only a decision you can make. Dr crisler does have a good cure rate for post fin syndrome and what we are talking about is still very much just a theory. I’m sure you could do both at some point. You could even run the hair mineral analysis idea past dr crisler and see what he says? I know he likes his guys to take zinc.

Do a hair tst rule it out first

well I think, however im not sure, his cure rate also includes ppl who are in TRT for life. That is something i’m not willing to accept… actually i find it to be unacceptable. I just wanna be my normal self :frowning:

Hey J899 do you have any links to any bodybuilding forums where people have talked about how SCIO helped them? I’ve been referred to a guy who does this and has a good reputation too. I’m sure there’s some benefit to it, but he’s in Atlanta and it’s quite a drive over there. I’d like to see some stories about how it’s helped some steroid users. You may have posted the link already, but I can’t find it wading through page after page in this thread.

Here is where I first heard about it. Might be a good idea to join that forum and get in touch with “Saizen”.

Dude, I had a problem taking zinc where I also vomited. My kidneys shut down. If you start to feel constipated or like something is really wrong you need to go to a doctor about kidney shutdown, it’s very dangerous.

Basically I was taking the 100% rda amount for a few days. My kidneys couldn’t handle it. My digestive system stopped working and processing food so I literally couldn’t get it down and vomited it back up.

If you vomit it’s a sign your body doesn’t want something. Pay attention.

Thanks!

Seems like it might be worth a shot. Only costs $150 from what I’ve heard, and this guy in Atlanta apparently will spend hours with you and really try and figure out your problem, and for no extra charge.

I’m thinking of canceling my appointment with shippen and trying the alternative medicine route, as I’ve come completely to distrust the mainstream FDA/AMA medical axis. There is not a single verifiable case as far as I know of the “big 4” on this site curing anyone with significant PFS, and it would help to try as many different things as possible.

Martin what blood test is responsible for gushing kidney function? Is it creatinine or somthing like that?

I think it’s a bit hasty calling an iscolated vomit kidney failure, but I will get a blood test for kidneys anyway. I’m not showing any other other symptoms of kidney failure. I’ve been having a lot of trouble concentrating but that could be anything.

If nothing else it was a bit strange. I never usually vomit for no aparent reason. Was your creatinine high Martin?

Thanks for bringing it up though, ya can’t be too carefull.

Somthing I should add here is that I vomited shortly after taking 2mg of copper. Normally I’ve been handling the copper just fine. It was long enough after the copper that it had disolved in my stomach as there was no capsule in the vomit. It was on an empty stomach but I’m usually pretty good with holding stuff down. I can’t wait to get my results from the hair mineral analysis as it should shine some light on the whole thing. I sent it off today so will know in about 3 weeks.

ok copper people - can one person please find a copper to finasteride connection from a medical journal - not asking sarcastically - i really honestly want to see one. please.

Is it necessary for something to be detailed in a medical journal in order for it to exist?

By the way, I noticed the aplomb with which you and Mew seem to quote articles from “Quackwatch.” Here is an interesting opinion I found from no other than the famous Dr. Crisler:

Not that I needed him to convince me, but his opinion of course is highly relevant to the interests of this site.

Where is the “Quackwatch” page on finasteride by the way?
