2x Recovery Story - various natural supplement methods

You guys are probably onto something,I have read that Copper has been found to be an antagonist to thyroid hormone. That being said high levels of copper cause hypthyroidism.

Hi guys

I have recently had mineral and heavy metal tests done and they showed that my mercury and copper levels are twice the top of the normal range. I was actually happy to hear this as I think that Letscovenience’s theory could hold some ground and this is something that can be fixed. I am now undergoing a detox regime which involves the following:

Taking zinc and vitamin c
Going to the sauna daily
I have stopped drinking tap water as I know that the apartment I stay in has copper plumbing
I have stopped swimming in pools
I will also start with chelation therapy this week
I am also looking into taking alpha lipoic acid as I heard that it is a great natural way for the body to detox itself.

I also want to research the ox bile. I have read on Dr Wilson’s website that he highly recomends coffe enemas to reduce copper levels. Does anyone know whether ox bile works in the same way as coffee enemas because I am not too keen on going the enema route?

What gave me great hope that this copper toxicitycould hold the answer was that I read about the symptoms of copper toxicity on the link Dr Wilson’s website and they are strikingly similar to the symptoms characterized by the finasteride syndrome.

I have now been doing this for two weeks and can report that I am getting morning errections (please don’t read too much into this because its early days, but its a good sign nonetheless) consistently again (albeit weaker than pre-fin), although this could be unrelated because I have also recently started taking arginine.

Anyway I have nothing to lose by following this regime and worse scenario that it does not work, I will in any case be healthier. I will let you guys know how things go and also when I have follow up tests.

On an unrelated note (and the reason I am posting this as a reply) is that I have also recently undergone scio in an attempt to highlight the cause of my problems.

The SCIO machine highlighted the following issues in my body:

My adrenals are stressed (true)
My liver is stressed (true)
my pituitory gland is stressed (true)
My phineal gland is stressed (probably true since my sleep is crap)
I have high mercury levels (recently confirmed)
I suffer from depression (this is true, but only post fin)
My thyroid is stressed (true)

Interestingly it did not find anything wrong with my reproductive organs which could indicate that the problem lies elsewhere. This is supported by the fact that I was on clomid for 6 weeks and my T levels skyrocketed.

Please bear in mind that the scio will not point to a particular thing as the cause of all problems, but rather it will point to stresses in the body and highlight various imbalances. Saying that, the scio did not tell me anything that was not true and I would definitely recomend that everyone suffering from post finasteride symptoms has a session on the scio. It is perfectly safe and you guys have nothing to lose.

Who are you? Pls fill out following template in Member Stories section so we have some background on your situation.

here is the quackwatch report on the SCIO machine:

And here is a report about them in the Seattle times, include some people who have died attempt to heal from them:

Thanks for your input RSA…I implore you to hang around and share the outcome of your treatment.

Whats your story? How long did you take Finasteride for and how long have you been off? Can we have a little background please?

I heard about SCIO on a body building forum where I think a few of them were South African. RSA could be one of those guys, I dont know.

I would take this quackwatch stuff with a grain of salt. Seriously. How many big pharma companies would love for us never to find alternatives to pharmacuetical drugs (which got us into this mess in the first place!). Keep your eyes open is all im gonna say.

As with any type of medicine, there are good and bad. There are proper SCIO places out there who do holistic medicine. They incorporate both your body’s energy and vitamin and mineral imbalances.

And why then isnt Finasteride in any of these quakwatch reports? Because its biased, thats why. Soon everyone will wake up and realise that its in the pharmaceutical industries (and the governments) best interest that we remain relying on pharmacuetical companies. Do I think they are keeping us sick? Yes. Partly because if they told us what they know about he poison they dish out to us every day, we wouldnt go near it. But people are starting to wake up. Dont be one of the ones who’s lef behind. Get healthy the way nature intended it. Pharmaceutical drugs will never beat mother nature as a cure. Never.

Finasteride is quakery at it’s finest. I find it highly amusing that you’re claiming SCIO is quakery. It may be an evolving form of medicine but its miles ahead of the bean counters at Merk.

Aint that the truth

When you become so desperate you start to believe in “bio-energetic forces”, then finasteride has not only taken your health from you, it has taken your dignity.

These kinds of discussions are the reason people think we are a bunch of deluded neurotics. Good work.

Ok, I see where you’re coming from Scared. Im not sold on the “bio-energy” side of it either - yet. But I am talking more about the vitamin/mineral deficiency and toxicity investigations that these guys do. Apparently they are very good at it.

Again, I hear what your saying and im not trying to push the “weird” engergetic forces stuff on anyone. Im just making a point that via SCIO im hearing some very good things about recovery from anabolic steroid abuse.

I have now posted my story on the member’s section. Its called RSA’s story. You guys can read it if you want to know about my history.

As far as me advocating the scio is concerned, I can only say that the only way sceptics’ perceptions of it are going to change is from first hand experience. After all is that not how our perceptions of finasteride were changed. I can also quote some FDA approved information published by Merck advocating the safety of finasteride. But we of course know better, because of first hand experience. I would not recomend something that I had not tried myself. I myself don’t think the scio is going to heal us but as an alternative means of understanding what is going on in our bodies, I think it is invaluable.

I will definitely keep you guys updated on the progress of my copper and mercury detoxing regime. I want all of us to recover from this rubbish.

Really you guys blow me away - i understand your desperation to heal, but it doesnt mean that some machine that looks like a computer from 1980 that supposedly heals “everything” by “looking for vitality-robbing bad guys.” by “scanning 10 thousand frequencies ( in three mins ) and then measures your answer to those frequencies for vitamin levels, amino acids, nutriments, food substances, minerals, enzymes, sugar, poisons, hormone levels, muscles tone, illness, bacteria, molds, fungi, and viruses. It even tests the health and balance of your vital organs and resets the energy and balance of your chakras!” HOW THE HELL WOULD IT DO THAT? WITH A BUILT IN MAGIC WAND??? the inventor of the machine (which goes by two names by the way, the SCIO OR EPFX machine) whos name is bill nelson, even cross-dresses as a woman named desire to help boost his profits. desifm.net/main.html Lovely woman, isnt he?

Oh and i found another person offering the service!

here is more informations!

I KNOW I AM!!! :astonished:

To each their own. Guys please do as you please. My conscience is clear and my intentions were well meaning.

Golf try and keep an open mind buddy. I bet the guy who invented blood tests was laughed off the face of the earth as well. From what I’ve seen, measuring energy is going to be a big thing for medicine in the future. Think whatever you want. I dont beleive in this stuff, yet, as there isnt enough proof. There is certainly proof that vitamins and minerals can fix chronic health problems.

Who are you anyway? Are you a mod here or somthing?

Ok Golf, so you’re a moderator here. So are you saying we cant post anything about SCIO on this website?..

You do realise that at some point medicine will move away from pharmaceutical drugs (it already is). So then are you going to be so closed minded to modern medicine and different ideas that no one here will even have a chance to benefit from them?

Sure parts of SCIO are not mainstream and even I question it’s validity. But please dont stop us from even entertaining the idea especially when a lot of ex body building guys swear by it. As I said before, its more the nutritional side of SCIO that im interested in…

Also Golf, heres a little story for you. Before I took Finasteride I had chronic fatigue syndrome. I also had chronic insomnia. I could not sleep for days on end and if got any sleep at all it was about an hour at the most. Wasnt long before I started losing the plot and going downhill. I wanted to kill myself I was so exhausted. I went to probably 15 doctors who all said I was depressed. Not one of them even asked about my diet and if they did it was very vaugue.

By a stroke of luck, I ended up being put onto a doctor through my physio (who is also the head doc of a proffesional sports team) and the first thing he did was put me on a Cellular Health Anylyser. Yup - a machine. This thing spat out all sorts of information about me at the touch of a button. And he uses it on all of his professional athletes. Anyway it turns out that I was consuming way too much simple carbs. Problem solved. He also found that my liver was toxic and not working properly via a liver detoxification profile. Boy did I feel better after just two weeks of seeing him. He never did get to the bottom of my liver problem, but he sure helped a LOT. Personally (and other docs thinks so too) I think my liver problem is copper related. But thats another story.

So had I not trusted this doctor when he put me on a machine and asked about my diet, I would probably be dead right now, such was the pace that sugar was wrecking my body. Had I kept going to western medicine and normal doctors, I would be drugged to my eyeballs on anti-depressants.

Of note (and heres the kicker) I oringinally asked this doctor for Finasteride when I first started losing hair AND HE SAID ITS NOT A GOOD IDEA TO MESS WITH YOUR HORMONES ESPECIALLY DHT. This…from a doc who fixes people with diet change and detoxification! How smart was this man???

really? that’s neat. please show me any one scientific document on it - like on pubmed, or a document submitted for peer reviewed literature. NOT a sales page.

They swear by a lot of other insane shit too that isn’t necessarily healthy simply because it may be rumored to build muscle.

so it is clearly your own fault for going on propecia when your doctor said not to - many of us did not have that luxury and had a doctor who thought it was perfectly safe and just gave us the prescription, no warnings. you were blessed to have a warning, and ignored it.

The fact of the matter is, you are fully welcome to entertain YOURSELF with whatever magic gadgets you want to attempt to heal, but it baffles me that you are putting your credence in some machine that has no scientific proof of working, “western” medication or other wise - people invent things like that specifically because they know people are desperate and sick and they know people will do anything to heal - I even posted another invention, by the same man, which is even more ridiculous then the SCIO machine, and you STILL think these inventions are real. if you want to put your faith in these yourself, fine, but don’t come on here and promise it to others as a method out of healing without backing it up with real research. If you want, why not take one of your healthy friends to the healer, tell the healer that the friend is “very sick” and i’m sure the machine will indicate that they are sick as well because i’m sure it does the same for every person whom it is used on.

Again, do not post about it without scientific again unless you go and use it or you include scientific credence.
Thanks

It’s a bit rough to say that suffering this syndrome is anyone’s ‘fault’. I didn’t have a doctor warn me because I bought it myself, as many others no doubt did because of cost/embarassment/convenience/whatever, does that make it my fault? I started before this site existed and didn’t come across any stories of permanent side effects, mental side effects etc. What about guys who see this site and read the horror stories beforehand yet still go ahead and get struck, are they at fault? And do they deserve to get into trouble even if they escape scot free? We are talking about a drug for hairloss for God’s sake, with official stats which drastically downplay effects on the drug and don’t acknowledge any permanent sides. We didn’t pump in steroids or crystal meth.
