2012 Scientific Research Initiatives into the Post-Finasteride Syndrome - DISCUSSION THREAD

Awor has said multiple times that something “significant” was found at the Androgen receptor level. No elaboration has been provided thus far.

Guys, we have to be patient. Results can’t be discussed until they are officially published. Just have faith things are moving forward because once announcements can be made, I’m sure they will be doing so as soon as possible.

waiting 12 years for an answer and solution to my pfs.

be patient.

Awor I am looking for a link to, or precise write up your theory that the current studies are baised upon. I would like to give it a read through and would also think others here would like to see it again.

Awor,

Thank you very much for the update and all of your hard work. You are doing great! Only a great man could deal with these awful side effects, put together all of this research into our problem, hold down a full time job, and most importantly take care of a family. You are a true stud.

I know the process is slow, but I am excited for the day we can start donating and I am already putting money aside as often as possible for a donation.

Keep up the great work!!!

What’s the minimum amount needed to get the protein study underway?

Was AR mRNA, functional AR protein, as well as AR expression looked into in the first study?

Awor, from what you already know, is there ANY single supplement or vitamin you can suggest at all?

Have you tried anything lately? Any improvements?

Awor do you or do any of the researchers think it is worth investigating 5AR3?

…or adrenal function…

You have the rest of the forum to talk about ‘adrenal fatigue’ ‘leaky gut’ and your ‘truther girls conspiracy theories’. Lets not post that stupid rubbish here.

In fact its not a forum for oddballs with strange stories of using SP at 15 years old at all. You might be happier posting at curezone.

The theory points toward the root problem.

Our various collective problems with things like our adrenals, thyroid, liver, prostate and digestive issues could potentially all be explained by this root theory. Instead of thinking about those things AS “the” problem think of them as potential symptoms of the root problem. Since not all of us here share them, and the disease manifests itself differently, in different people finding out what ALL finasteride sufferer’s have in common (regarding our condition) is the quickest and most sure route toward finding a viable treatment/cure.

Do you know what ‘The Theory’ is?

This is nothing to do with, “adrenals, thyroid, liver, prostate and digestive ‘issues’” not as a root cause of the problem OR as a symptom of the problem (I have severe side effects but none of these).

The root cause is entirely due to androgens not working, all of the symptoms are entirely due to androgens not working.

Yes Oscar like you said those things could just be symptoms of the problem.

No. Anyone talking about ‘adrenal issues’ is mentally lazy at best, deliberately misleading at worst.

People talking about “phantom DHT” are just as batshit crazy.

Cortisol is a adrenal hormone that many of us have messed up levels of. I doubt this is the base cause however as some here may think. What I am saying and have already stated is that all those things the previous posters were posting about could all be simply the results of spiderweb effect the “root” problem causes to happen to the body.

So as far as I see it, we basically agree here Oscar.

No, there is no parity as far as Oscar is concerned; he has been abundantly clear: All of those possible mitigators (by extension possible facilitators) and, or, symptoms have no bearing whatsoever in PFS, or, the arguably more apt acronym: OPFS (Oscar’s Post Finasteride Syndrome). If it hasn’t affected the chosen one, well then, it shouldn’t be mentioned, period. If you’re confused (and who wouldn’t be) and, would like an up to date, purely scientific parameter delineation as to what officially constitutes PFS, please see Oscar’s story.

This is a quote from Awor’s initial message on this thread:

Read and understand. Stop bickering. Awor, regardless of your beliefs, is expending personal time and energy into this research and thread. Do you think it motivates him to come back and update here and having to read through the off-topic posts about adrenal fatigue or the back-and-forth bickering? In case you can’t figure it out, the answer is no.

@MartimM

You hit the nail on the head!
