Hello. I took finasteride for two weeks last month. I decided to stop because I noticed that I began to urinate more frequently and after digging around online for side effects, I came across your site, read some of the horror stories and decided it wasn’t worth the risk. Shortly after stopping (about 2-3 days), my testicles began to ache. The aforementioned ache more or less subsided on Monday of this week. Unfortunately, I am noticing that my ‘breasts’ have become enlarged and thus I am quite worried. I took notice of this yesterday, which is a week after I quit. It seems that they look slightly larger today, but I could just be freaking out a bit (definitely larger than last week, however). Note that the enlargement is rather general so far and seems more like fat buildup of some sort rather than any deformed shape. Also note that at this point, there is no tenderness or pain and nipples are roughly the same size. I would like to find out if anyone else experienced this AFTER quitting finasteride (and only being on it for a short amount of time). I’ve seen reports of similar things happening while people are taking finasteride, but after stopping does this typically start? If so, does it generally go away? Any suggestions? I’ll likely call my Dr. if this persists or gets worse as the week goes on, but I didn’t get my fin from him so I’d rather avoid the lecture if this is something that’s likely to subside. I’m freaking out a bit so please let me know if anyone else has experienced this. Thank you in advance for your responses. I look forward to hearing from you.

Anyone???

If that’s the only side you have give it some time to see what happens. If worst comes to worst you can get the tissue removed.

Count yourself extremely lucky that’s all the poison has done to you and spread the word how dangerous propecia is.

Most of us on here are fighting for our lives.

Agree, If that’s all that happed to you. You are the luckiest guy on the planet.

it happened to me and many others too. But I think it is not the fat (or maybe little bit fat) but it is water. I had a lot of water in my body four years ago mainly in my chest and legs but now it has reduced. Sometimes mine breasts look bigger and sometimes shrunken. I would suggest to take some pictures from different angles every two week apart and if you feel few months later that they are getting worse visit the dr and show him these pics. He will not deny you otherwise like many drs he will prescribe you some antidepressants. I think pictures are the strongest proofs and all of us take pics and keep as record.

Thank you all for the replies. I hope that this is ‘it’ but am honestly worried to wake up in the morning and find out what else might be wrong. I’m waiting to hear back from my Dr. to get an Endo referral. I will keep you posted. In the meantime, has anyone experienced something similar (i.e. post stopping)? If so, did it go away?

And I am certainly spreading the word. Hair is simply NOT worth it. Our vanity comes at a terrible cost.
