Wording and the impact of words towards describing illness.

Just some thought’s on wording and the impact of proper description towards our illness.

I sincerely hope that what we suffer from is considered a real ILLNESS, because it CLEARLY IS.
A syndrome it is not…we have no official diagnosis to support this terminology! Be careful is all I’m saying.

I sincerely hope that the lawyer’s get this right.

The ‘stigma’ of wording and what certain words carry, is what we should all look out for with caution. This is not very easy.

For example, the word ‘consumer’, is a negative business term historically used, by advertising and big business, to help eliminate the words people/individuals/citizens and the ‘sympathetic stigma’ these words carry.

Example’s:

  1. Individual’s/US citizens are up in arms by a recent Bank of America hike in debit card fee’s.
  2. Consumers are up in arms by a recent Bank of America hike increase in debit card fee’s.

Which sentence do you think the public would be more sympathetic towards when reading this in a newspaper? Take a guess! I hope this makes some sense to you out there. Just trying to raise some awareness and concern with regards to this post.

A syndrome it is not officially in my humble opinion.
PFS is starting to really bother me as is the term Brain Fog.
I’m mostly concerned with INITIAL sympathy and understanding from the public and how we are looked upon.

Society today has a very short attention span and are very quick to judge and dismiss or criticize.

People seem to forget how powerful wording really is!

Take care friends.
