I’ve come very far with this thing guys and seem to be done with any sexual/hormonal types of side effects. But my gut has been destroyed by this shit and was probably most of the problem in my case. I seem to have eliminated my bacterial overgrowth but now seem tohave gotten c difficile badly will get test into lab in morning. Anyone else dealt with stuff like this and have any advice? I’ve been trying as hard as humanly possible to make a comeback from this and i seem to have mostly helped my body in doing that. Please pray for me guys i dont want to have come so far just to get screwed up by this and it hurts a lot and feels really fuckin weird i didnt realize this difficile thing could be so bad i tried introducing probiotics once sibo was gone but got messed up anyways. And take this as a warning if you have screwed up digestion and take antibiotics it can leave you prone to this crap. I want my nightmare to end but it seems like i have one more challenge to overcome.
Have any tests confirmed that difficile is a problem ? It’s probably not a good idea to take antibiotics again , but here are some options…
The antibiotics usually used in the treatment of C. difficile infection are vancomycin or fidaxomicin. Asymptomatic patients despite having a positive stool toxin test do not require treatment. Intravenous metronidazole can be used in a patient who suffers from ileus where the delivery of orally administered antibiotics will be delayed. However, vancomycin cannot be administered intravenously because it cannot be secreted into the colon.
Bezlotoxumab, a newer human monoclonal antibody against C. difficile toxin, has been recently approved for the management of recurrent infections by C. difficile and a clinical study performed to assess the efficacy revealed positive outcomes. [21]Fecal transplantation, the process through which feces from a healthy donor into the intestinal tract of a person with disrupted microbial balance, has reported an 80% to 90% success rate in reducing the recurrence of C. difficile infections.
fingers crossed mate
Need to wait for the test to come back first
What test is best to diagnose digestion/bacteria issues?
Lactulose breath test i would highly recommend, leaky gut is very suspect in men with estrogen dominance to me since if you have intestinal permeability due to sibo the estrogen may never leave and continue to enter the body through the intestines in an endless loop. Estrogen is the only steroid that we poop out i think testosterone and dht can just be metabolized into androstenedione or estrone and sweat out estradiol wont leave the body if your gut lining is compromised and its in a high dominance it creates more of itself from your own testosterone faster than you can poop it out because you barely get rid of any metabolic waste with leaky gut. Stool tests for other pathogens intestinal permeability etc are probably a good idea and any other type of non invasive breath test is probably worth doing too if theres not an answer with anything else. Checking for colonoscopy endoscopy and the small bowel camera thing might be worth doing too. Also most GIs want as much testing done as possible to rule out other possibilities for your digestive issues before they treat your sibo because false breath tests are common enough that treating someone for sibo when they have chrons and now you just destroyed good bacteria for no reason would be dumb. I actually had sibo and one course of cipro gave me a whole new infection. SIBO is just straight up hard to treat because its mostly considered good bacteria but its in the wrong place so it causes issues and makes laxative use required for many sibo sufferers who have chronic constipation. I’d recommend miralax for sibo and thats probably all thats needed to help move things out quicker since even diarrhea tends to be very sticky and slow. Drugs like birth control are a sibo risk factor which is not a coincidence such high levels of estrogen can slow your gut down so much the bacteria moves up into your small intestine where it doesnt belong. so i’d say the lactulose test is most important for people with pfs to get done.
My ultrasensitive Estradiol is like 17 (10-42) pg/mL. Would this even matter? You suggest reaching out to a gastroenterologist then? I’ve gotta say man, anything I take that seems to mess with gut integrity at all completely worsens my brain fog. Bone broth and Betaine HCL have completely fucked me up, like brain fog so bad it is like i’m living in a dream or something. Completely detached from reality, and it hasn’t really gone back to baseline.
