If so how much are we looking at roughly?
JSK,
I was quoted by the receptionist, The initial consultation is 580.00 and you have to pay out of pocket and look to get reimbursed by your insurance company. That seems awful pricey in my opinion. You may also need to pay for part of the blood test. There are a whole bunch of hormones and proteins that are believed to be related to our problem and some insurance companies don’t cover testing for many of these. Maybe someone that has used Shippen, can elaborate on what he likes to test for.
I have not decided to go see him yet, personally I’m going to wait for another couple of blood tests, as I seem to be moving in the right direction and think we have damaged our bodies enough with propecia. Be careful not to do further damage with any more meds, which could cause additional sides.
Have you been for a blood test yet? I think you will find it helps you realize where you are at and where you need to be. Your primary dr can get a blood test going for you. It may take time for the endo referral.
Also, I think I read on another post of yours regarding antidepressants or something to help with the neurological problems caused by this drug. I have good success with the amino acid, tyrosine, exercising a lot and eating right. The tyrosine is an amino acid; a healthy alternative to an antidepressant. It helps to raise your body’s dopamine. Do some research on it.
good luck
