Will propecia/ finasteride be getting more and more popular now?

Propecia has cropped up a few times in magazine/ tabloids I have read, many of the stories are related to celebrities hairloss or it’s just a lowdown on the ways in which men can beat baldness e.g. in mens health magazine. I had never seen this much coverage of it before, and with more and more coverage of propecia, do you guys think it will be getting more popular?

I think with ways of fighting baldness now becoming more known, with propecia being the BIG product surely it will be. Combined with the fact that the world is getting ever more superficial, and there is more and more pressure on men to look good as well as women.

Is there anywhere that you can view sales figures for each year? I am just interested, as obviously the more people using it, the more people that are going to get side effects - surely. Ahh I remember when I first approached using propecia and it seemed like a handy little drug which i could take easily everyday to help out my hair. I even thought it was good how I had found out all the best ways to prevent baldness myself, and I was looking forward to building a little regimen and seeing results. Fuck all that now though, it seems like madness to me now.

Anyone that follows football will know who Wayne Rooney is, there was lots of tabloid speculation about him doing things about his hair loss with propecia. Coincidentally, he is playing the worst football of his life now.

I have been thinking that. I don’t follow football much and I know Fernando Torres has amazing hair but his hair is exactly like mine was at the age I started losing it and he had a massive drop in form after the European cup as I recall. I wondered whether it could have been propecia induced. Or even minoxidil with some players. Minox can make you feel week.

Yeah, I posted that in the ‘famous users’ thread. I don’t know if he could get propecia past his club’s medical team, however since he was linked with it his form has been atrocious. What’s more, he’s been acting very moody and strange: slagged off English fans in the World Cup, tried to engineer a move away from Man Utd and moaned about them then performed a total u-turn. Sometimes it looks like he has the weight of the world on his shoulders. He’s been seeing hookers again, could be fin increased libido or reduced it and he has to get more kicks to get going?!

Robbie williams (take that) was loosing his hair, but it seems to have grown back. he recently told papers he had testsosterone of a 100 year old and is on trt. Hmmm i wounder if he took it. i doubt Rooney did. There is no way United would allow him to do anything like that, All it needs is someone famous to get behind this.

I was thinking about Robbie Williams very recently. He has definitely used propecia in the past and he is not shy of admitting that he uses testosterone therapy now.

Add James Nesbit, Matthew McConaughey, Ryan Giggs and Will Young to the list of famous propecia users. You could go on and on.

In my opinion - anyone that works in Media or is in the eye of the media will find out about Propecia if they begin to lose their hair. There must be quite a few celebrities, especially actors that use the drug.

I wouldn’t wish this condition upon anyone but it would be useful to us if a celebrity had issues from the drug and spoke openly about it. Not that this would ever happen.

Take this for a moment and then think about how easily available Indian generics are online. The fact that you can walk into the British chemist ‘Boots’ or any hair loss company and get it.

I am baffled as to how this condition is still, apparently so rare. The way i see it is, if it happened to me, it can’t be that rare.

I don’t see any evidence that Robbie Williams has ever taken Propecia, but his ‘mystery illness’ sounds a lot like PFS since he has lethargy and sexual dysfunction. He is publicly outspoken about his support for Viagra.

If anybody can find convincing evidence that he has taken Propecia in the past, I would say there is a good chance he is unknowingly suffering from PFS and it could be VERY helpful to have somebody reach out to him.

I wonder what he took.
