why is this drug not banned yet?

yes…my simple question…

1000’s of sufferers
doctors who clearly see the problem

why is the drug still on the market?

millions of successful users
more doctors who dont see a problem

and
the big obvious one
$

Millions is an exaggeration, unless the majority of men are self-medicating.

It was only a tiny % of users who got f’d over by Vioxx too.

Definately the number of people with sides while on the drug and those of us still suffering after months and years off it is way under reported. The maintenace guy at my business took Fin and had sides of somekind but was too embarrassed to tell anyone. So, thats 2 people in a business of 12 who took Fin and got screwed up by it. Wish he would have opened up and told me before I put the poison in my mouth.

…and besides the ones not reporting it are the ones that have no clue what’s hitting them is being caused by propecia.

then you come here and you go… yep, got that… and that… and that… etc.

the brain fog, soreness, lack of sleep snuck up on me and it was only when my penis did a full softy or I noticed a few drops of ejaculation did I start to look at propecia being the cause.

I’m sure merck can find a fix for this, but, not until they face the courts or a PR problem would they research it.

Add to this: decades of sponsored research “confirmed” time and time again, that finasteride is an exceptionally safe substance. This is basically self fulfilling prophecy, since you get all the docs believing it and scientist re-publish material on the subject confirming what has previously been written. We need publications which state the contrary. Hopefully, Dr. Irwigs study will get the ball rolling. The question is, based on the above, if it will pass peer review.

Look at Accutane, a substance which inhibits 5AR1. A high number of teens have comitted suicide following Accutane use. We even have some cases which have taken Accutane and ended up with the same problems like we have on this board. Despite the clear facts, a very large and vocal group of scientists denies that there is any link between Accutane and Suicide / Depression.

It is simply sick! Money seems to be able to skew the minds even of people who are supposed to be dedicated to finding the truth…

The quote you provided is from the archive of dermatology.

It’s in their interest to downplay the risk of drugs used for cosmetic purposes, since their livelihood depends on it. That journal also significantly downplays the risks of Finasteride too. I wouldn’t take anything they write seriously considering their inherent self-interest and bias on the subject.

A man has to make a living…I get it…but not at the mercy of innocent human beings…It’s wrong, very wrong…

Id just like to give a shout out to the fda, good job fellas
