why is this doctor so ignorant??

look- http://www.baldingblog.com/2007/07/27/swollen-testicles-from-propecia/
and especialy this one- http://www.baldingblog.com/2009/08/28/im-scared-about-propecia-complaints-on-the-web-but-ill-take-it-anyway/

Conflict of interest – he prescribes the drug for a living. Do you really think he’d have anything negative to say about it since that’s the case?

Of course not, it would impact his profits. Dermatologists/hairloss doctors are well known to downplay the true risks from Finasteride & androgen deprivation therapy, in order to prescribe it to unsuspecting men for cosmetic purposes, as noted here:

do they get commission on each sale… because how could anybody that knows about these sides disregard them straight to their face… its not human…?? and its not some its like most doctors!! how can this theory be?? and forsure there has to be some honest doctors in them

I’m sure there is some corporate kickbacks from Merck somewhere along the line for prescribing their medications, ie commission payments… but I could be wrong.

Regardless, as we’ve seen time and time again with pharmaceuticals, greed & money trumps everything, even concern for people’s health. The FDA and pharma companies do not care about your health, only your wallet.

And if you’re in the hairloss industry, prescribing Propecia is part of your job. Thus such doctors tend to dismiss or downplay negative effects from the medication, since it’s used to treat a cosmetic condition that supports an industry tied to their livelihood.

No chiller,
They don’t get comission, but they earn the money from the appointment, and you need an appointment to have the drug prescribed to you.

“its not human…??”

Some doctors really don’t believe the side effects, it is like they are in denial. There are good doctors who were fooled by Merck the same way we were. But they are in denial, it is a way of not confronting guilt, since each doctor prescribed the drug to dozens of men.

Some are really careless, like the one you posted the link. He cares about making money and that’s it. I suppose it has been a short time since you found out about the truth. It is indeed a shock to see the world works like this…

but wouldnt doctors make more money if they tell the person to get a hair transplant instead?
because if theyre only gonna make the money for 1 appointment and no commission at least go for the gold and try to convince patient for hair transplant
