Why has no other country banned propecia if its negative effects have been known for so long?

The only organization making money is Merck, which is an american company. The only doctors that could potentially make money are dermatologists. No other doctor benefits. Furthermore, wouldn’t countries with nationalized health care try to ban products that make their population unhealthy?

According to a medical professional, finasteride is not prescribed or recommended by qualified medical professionals in Russia due to known problems with side effects.
so, in so called free countries we have freedome of playing with the health of other people?
it baffles me how law is protective for big criminals. Go out and slap any person and you will be behind bar, but thousands have lost their health, families have fallen apart and who knows how many have have take their lives, and there is no accountability. Is it justice? where is justice? I don’t see it. Every where is $$$$$ business.

Pls post a link to some official documents stating Finasteride has been banned and is not available for sale in those regions.
I ll check that for you sure, in the meantime whenever I used to go to Qatar, UAE, Egypt, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Philippines or Russia I was informed that the drug is banned from the pharmacies!
It would be great if you could get some official documents saying it has been banned in any of those countries and their reasons for banning it. I know we all know why they banned it but to get it in writing from another government would be great.
Also, its curious. If this drug was intially only made by Merck, and these countries banned it what medical evidence did they use to back up their reasoning for banning it? Could be evidence to prove Merck was aware of the side effects of the drug and disregarded the safety of the public.

I showed my email correspondence with Denish health ministry about saw palmetto sides and being it removed from food sections. Emails clearly states it is endocrine distruptor. here is exact wording
“We will recommend you to contact your own national food authority/administration and let them known about your situation. You can explain to them that we here in Denmark have made a risk assessment of saw palmetto which has let to that we do not accept saw palmetto in food supplements since saw palmetto can have an effect on the hormone system.”
now funny part I fighting my tooth and nail with my doctor. and gave him all the email printouts and he just threw them in the Garbage and instead wrote a note on my file ( basically describing me as a moron and hypochondriac) that he can not see me any more and I need to change my family physcian. He could not answer why I am loosing wieght, dry eyes, shrunken penis etc etc.
I was with him for the last 10 years and he did not bother as to why I am constantly sick. I mentioned finasteride as well but he refused to believe me and instead asked me to leave his office. He said I was making up stories.
I have changed many many physicians but to no avail. They come in to see you like a robot and hardly spend 5 minutes.
Complaining to health Canada is falling on deaf ears.

There is no justice or democracy in this world. This is what happens when multi national corporations are more powerful than any government. We are a great example of how disgusting this world has become due to the greed of others.
This all started with hair loss right? so we took propecia - X amount of cash in Merck’s pocket. We now have erectile dysfunction - X amount of cash to another company if we take viagra. We are now depressed/ anxious - X amount of cash to another company if we take anti depressants. All this while also lining the pockets of the GP’s who prescribe this stuff. Most of them having no knowledge of what half of the drugs they actually prescribe do.
Back on to the specific topic of this thread. Can someone please provide a source to show that finasteride is banned in Russia and the middle east? i think it’s just a rumor

Take the number of vehicles in the field, A, multiply by the probable rate of failure, B, multiply by the average out-of-court settlement, C. A times B times C equals X. If X is less than the cost of a recall, we don’t do one.
Merck know the numbers, they know they are still making more by having the drug on the market even after they pay out when they loose in court.
Ever wondered why a box of Propecia is $95 and not $85.(Not sure of exact price in your country). Just to cover the eventual lose in court.
