Why are the benefits of clomid sustainable?

Articles (http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/4615915) and tons of posts in many forums (http://anabolicminds.com/forum/male-anti-aging/77768-low-testosterone-clomid.html) claim that clomid can fix hypogonadism. Take it for long enough and, when you come off, your T will be at stable high levels.

Why does that happen? If your T is low, it’s because your body wants it to be low due to the HTPA negative feedback. When you take clomid, you force your pituitary to ask your testes for more T. But when you come off, shouldn’t the pituitary realize that you have a lot of T, and therefore shut you down?

I believe because there is a loop of feedback, and once that loop is corrected from “negative” to “positive” everything begins working again.

I hypothesize that perhaps fin threw a wrench into this loop, the body sensed there was too much T therefor altering levels of LH or FSH, creating a negative feedback. When the loop is corrected again, and becomes positive, theoretically everything should turn back on.

The negative feedback control for LH (and I suppose GNRH) is controlled at some level by estrogen. Estrogen through mechanisms that are slightly unclear, tells your body that you don’t need as much LH and thus less testosterone (and estrogen by association).
SERMs like chlomid and nolvadex selectively modulate estrogen receptors, some of which are apart of that negative feedback loop, so your body thinks it’s low on estrogen, and releases more LH.

Now Propecia inhibits the conversion of Test to DHT, so now you have artificially high levels of test. More test is then aromatized to estrogen and thus your bodies negative feedback loop kicks in and can reduce LH release. So once you’re off Propecia you could potentially have thrown off the whole loop.

Also Clomid artificially raises the T, so once you are off clomid, you should crash similarly to when you get off propecia. But this doesn’t happen to body builders off their PCT. Why? In fact, clomid is used to permanently increase your T.
