What the fuck! It's a Joke?

What the fuck! A British study of the British Medical Journal (BMJ), on behalf of whose first author dr.s K.W. Hagberg, epidemiologist at the Boston University School of Public Health in Lexington, Massachusetts demonstrates says that 5-alpha reductase inhibitors (Finasteride, Dudasteride etc) do NOT cause sexual dysfunction in humans!

The conclusion of the study: “5-α reductase inhibitors do not seem to significantly increase the risk of incident erectile dysfunction, regardless of indication for use. Risk of erectile dysfunction increased with longer duration of benign prostatic hyperplasia.” (Katrina Wilcox Hagberg, Hozefa A Divan, Rebecca Persson, J Curtis Nickel, Susan S Jick, Risk of erectile dysfunction associated with use of 5-α reductase inhibitors for benign prostatic hyperplasia or alopecia: population based studies using the Clinical Practice Research Datalink, 22 September 2016).

Another study recent conclusion from dr.s K.W. Hagberg Made in March 2017, London, United Kingdom at EAU Congress confirms:

"In a large, 20 year, real world observational study, 5ARI therapy for BPH did not significantly increase the risk of clinically meaningful incident ED or depression compared to treatment with ABs only. Risk of ED and depression increased with longer duration of BPH. Use of 5ARIs increased the risk of gynecomastia, but not BrCa, compared to AB use and no exposure" (Hagberg K.W., Divan H.A. , Persson R. ,Fang S.C. , Jick S.S. , Nickel J.C., Impact of 5-alpha reductase inhibitors for treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia on erectile dysfunction, treated depression, gynecomastia, and breast cancer: A real world 20 year observational study Eur Urol Suppl 2017; 16(3);e919)

Article in Italian (for Italian) he has the grotesque, we would be influenced by the labeling of the drug! And an erectile dysfunction is observed only in cases of prolonged prostatic hyperplasia independently of the use of 5-alpha reductase inhibitors! What the fuck!

What the fuck! So all of us, are we crazy? It’s a Joke? :face_with_raised_eyebrow::face_with_raised_eyebrow::face_with_raised_eyebrow:

I gave a quick read at the first study only, and the only thing that appears to me is that almost all the results of it are no statistically significant, in other words they they can be casual. The only statistically significant result is significant for 0,01%. I wait for people better than me in statistics, but i’d say they mean almost nothing (they can be casual result), you cannot base on them, they are no good proofs.
Also the second study you posted has almost no statistically relevant data’s, so these 2 studies shouldn’t be taken in account.

Only a tiny portion of finasteride users ends up with pfs, most recover between 1-3 months timeframe

The study info was based on information from pre 1990 when finasteride went on the market in the uk . The info was then published at later dates so is very misleading.
15000 people can’t be wrong about the sexual side effects of finasteride and every website you see that sells finasteride that has a review forum will have 50% of reviews relating to sexual side effects short term and long term.

Until someone comes up with a solid medical reason for the negative side effects Im afraid we are all left in the dark , the answers will come soon with any luck.
It’s a bad place we have been left in and the harsh reality is there isn’t alot we can do about it
One thing is for sure it is the side effects are a reality.

It’s unfortunate that such studies are still being published. But it shows that our condition is fairly rare and often only appears way beyond the time horizon of such studies. And it also shows how important it is to find the mechanisms of our condition and identify the underlying (genetic) factors that make a subset of us susceptible in order to prove our condition and to develop screenings before any such medictation is started. That’s why it is important that we support the efforts of the PFS Foundations with our donations and that we contribute to the community-based research efforts, particularly the genome wide association study!

Also keep in mind almost all online studies do not monitor patients AFTER they come off the drug, when the infamous “crash” happens

Just look at the latest statements and annual address from the foundation…Melcangi already made the statement from the ongoing study that 5alpha enzyme are not functioning properly anymore …That means dht is not functioning in body in the same manner as before you took finasteride…
