what should i ask the doctor to do now on my next visit?

Right, after one year off finesteride i am still suffering a lack of libido, poor sensitivity, no morning erections etc. There have been some signs of improvement over the year but its a very slow process and I’m not sure if i can recover fully. Right now I’m relying on a good diet, exercise, supplements (fish oil, zinc etc) and time.

My testosterone results came back good apparently, please see the link.

So i am confused as to what the problem could be. My doctor has requested to see me again with regards to reviewing my depression (he thinks this is the cause to the loss of libido which im sure is not). I will go and see him again and explain that i have not bothered with the anti- depressants as im scared of what they could do to me like fin. I may decide to go for the counselling as this could help manage my issues. I have other issues like nasal problems after my surgery and IBS (irritable bowel syndrome). But they just seem to be ignoring my main post fin issue.

So should i ask to insist on checking other hormones? who should i ask to see, a neuro endocronologist? I just fear this could be a waste of time, as my doctor said so. No one seems to believe finesteride could cause this which is so annoying.

Also, i take it that due to my testosterone results it rules me out for TRT treatment right? so I’m stuck for a solution other then just relying on time!

I really hope i will recover and wish everyone luck but i just struggle to see how time can help. Thanks

Hey brother, I am in the same boat as you.
What I found is the more I read this site, the more anxiety and depression I get.
I would recommend seeing a specialist that will take your case more seriously.

I take amino acids 3 times a day. They are real cheap
discountanabolics.com/p/DY36
This is what I take and it has L-Tyrosine and everything you need in it.
I take 3mg of Melatonin every other night.
1 GABA pill before bed.
1 DHEA pill before bed.
Nitric Oxide befoer I lift
3 50 gram of Protien shakes a day… Lots of aminos and between meal keeps your body anabolic and your metabolism high.
Creatine occasionally, if its cheap.
1 good MultiVitamin

This week I’m going to start Cialis and go screw this woman I’ve been waiting too for months…

I am not depressed.
I have sexual sides and my whole body has tremors and anxiety.
But I still have a massive libido, it’s only crippled by the fact that in my head I know I can’t get it up…
I still want all of them.

My Step Mom is a scientist, an Embryologist and she is researching this and found me an Endo who is sympathetic to my case so I should have an appointment soon.

Have faith.
You’re case is different to everyone else’s, you are different.
If you give in you lose.
I am going to get over this and live my life.
Stay active like you are, working out and squats, even light weight, releases lots of Testosterone. I am a Spine and Sports Rehab Trainer so I am familiar with lots of supplements and the body… just not hormones unfortunately.

I just try and stay grateful I have something that can be managed and I have my life. My Ex had Bi-Polar and she had to be managed for the rest of her life too and she’s happy, this doesn’t make us less of men, nor would any woman look down on us, but it is in how you deal with it that makes what it is.

Keep me updated on your progress.

Take some time off from this site, a whole weekend and treat yourelf to some new music or good food.

Hi there, i apologize for the late reply. I have been quite busy, but also wanted to take a bit of a break from this site which as you said can make you feel slightly more depressed. On the other hand there can be some useful information on this site some of which has helped, also some of the stories i read i can relate to.

Well i did visit another doctor who works at my surgery. He seemed surprisingly sympathetic to my case and other things going on with me. He said he will refer me to a specialist though he wants me to do some counselling first as he chooses not to refer people just like that. And ok this doctor doesn’t prescribe propecia and hasn’t a lot of knowledge on the drug but he seems like he really wants to help.

To be honest ive been lacking with the exercise and diet for past couple of weeks. It hasn’t been that bad but i really should be consistent with the exercise. Guess its due to the run up to Christmas and all the great food!

In fact i have had moments of feeling reasonably cheerful lately, but still more downs then ups. I am hopeful that we can beat this thing, just may take time. I’m going to make it my new years resolution to really go all out- see specialists, proper exercise (want to try kung fu), good diet etc.

Thanks for your reply, reading a response like yours can really help and you have valid points. Keep me updated on your progress.
