So this post may come off as a bit preachy, so feel free to skip it if so inclined.

Being stuck in this situation for 6 months now - which i know is really not that long compared to some of you - has completely sucked - and I can only imagine how difficult life will be if I remain in this physical and mental state for years to come. I have basically sat on this forum reading every post possible, every recovery, every failure there is - and the thing that bothers me most about anything here is the fact that some of the people -especially the people that appear to be badly effected, who have lost there minds to brain fog or who sit there and watch there masculinity and sexuality waste away, continue to just play around with inexperienced doctors that do not care to examine our situation fully or simply sit back and wait for there problems to alleviate themselves while complaining to others about there side effects.

We need to take action, as a community, to seek out the most experienced and knowledgeable doctors possible to get to the route of this issue

We have yet to find a clinicians interested in testing us in a lab - so the closest thing to finding a breakthrough for us is getting the opinions of as many experienced doctors as possible as to what the root of the problem is. How do we find the most experienced doctors? well it isn’t the easiest thing on earth - but its not the most difficult either. Some are already listed on the site, but i am sure there are more. Lets start by finding doctors that specifically specialize in neuroendocrinolgy or andrology. If that is not there specialty, then we must at least find a doctor that is willing to test every single blood level that we propose - if a doctor states “that’s not necessary” then its time to leave there office, and find a new one.

But wont finding one of these experienced doctors be expensive?

Maybe so - but as i have said to some others in PM’s and posts - money is really secondary to health. I would literally empty all my bank accounts, give away my apartment, all my clothes, my job - everything - to have never heard about finasteride. Lets put things in perspective - health is truly all that matters. Don’t waste anymore time with partial blood testing and doctors who think “propecia cant hurt you!.” If the doctor you choose is far away - make a vacation out of it. Remember, even if you have to pay for the doctors visit, most blood tests are covered by insurance.

We need to spread out

Its great that shippen and chrysler have had (or have) several finasteride patients, but I suggest that we find some new specialists who can provide new incite into the situation. If 5 of us go to a doctor and only receive marginal results, or the doctor is unable to provide a suggestion as to where the root of the problem lies, then its time to find a new doctor.

Why am i writing all this?

I am tired of us being in a situation none of us deserve - and I am tired of our partial complacency with it - we must take action in order to create progress.

Since my visit with doctor Jacobs - he has created 3 blog posts which have created at least some public attention to our plight, and he is now currently investigation CAG genetic testing. Though i have yet to improve personally - he is bringing attention to the cause, and working hard at finding the route of the problem. Now Imagine if we find more doctors who are willing not only to seek out this cause, but also speak about it in a public forum. Only we have the power to find these doctors - they will not find us.

We need to START fucking around…

Fact is money is a BIG element and some can’t even work to get the funds.

The only ‘doctor’ who seems to have got a successful recovery is whoever is treating Dustin…if that story is even real. I personally wish I’d just flown to Shippen straight away as my symptoms were immediately very severe but opted to see if any endos/uros locally could help. I thought my sides were so dramatic they wouldn’t be dismissed. Sadly I was wrong. Anyway there’s a good chance I might have spent a lot of money via Shippen taking a lot of different meds without helping much.

Doctors which are not directly involved in molecular research are NOT the solution. Ours is a problem at the cutting edge of molecular science. Most doctors did their studies at least 10 or 20 years ago. In terms of molecular biology, >10 years is like light years ago. They also seldom keep up to date in the area of molecular science because there is nothing practical they can do at that level.

Having said this, doctors can be helpful in alleviating certain symptoms, and maybe even in providing psychological support. Some people have had some success with clomid, TRT, etc. for example. But doctors can’t identify and solve the root cause to this problem because not even science understand this yet. Doctors only can multiply solutions coming out of basic research/science, solutions which have been turned into commercial products by pharma. In other words, they are limited by the boundaries of basic science, and our problem lies beyond these boundaries.

Normal GP or endos often end up wasting lots of your money on useless testing etc. If you’re unlucky, he’ll end up worsening your condition. One can’t effectively treat something that’s not understood. So give it a try, but don’t insist if it doesn’t work.

As I have posted before, there is lots of action going on behind the scene. There just isn’t any wild posting about this because it wouldn’t fulfill any purpose and be counterproductive (we don’t want certain companies to know what’s going on). You can rest assured that you’re in good hands and there are people taking action. All you guys need to do is to 100% cooperate when asked by Mew and me to do something, such as participate in a study or complete a survey. There will be more opportunities for this in the foreseeable future.

My insuance finally starts up in 2 weeks. I am in SoCal so I can look into seeing Tony Heaney
