My first blood tests…normally I get health care through the VA but they are just so darn slow about everything that I finally had to go to an outside clinic to get blood work done. Here are my results:
from afternoon 10/19

Progesterone: 1.04 ng/ml [0.28-1.22] seems a bit high but what would cause that?

Prolactin: 7.1 ng/ml [2.1-17.7]

PSA: 0.5 ng/ml [0-4]

Free T: 8.0 ng/dl [9-30] below range

Total T: 445 ng/dl [240-950] in range, but still a bit low?

DHT: 423 pg/ml [112-955] at about the same point in range as total T

Estradiol: 22.2 pg/ml [0-52] optimal, but was taking sustain alpha at the time

FSH: 3.3 mIU/ml [1.4-18.1] low range, but is that bad?

LH: 4.36 mIU/ml [1.5-9.3]

As I mentioned I was taking sustain alpha at the time so these arent exactly baseline tests. However, I stopped taking it a couple of weeks ago and I am going to get tested again in a week or so. I will also test for cortisol and DHEA so I can determine if there is any sort of adrenal fatigue going on.

warbler, thank you for including your PSA, to better interpret it what is your (approximate) age or age range?

FSH is only a tad low.

Get total serum T and SHBG tested in the same draw, as early in the morning as possible.

Yes progesterone is high, others have had high progesterone (including myself). 5 alpha reductase type 2 (which finasteride inhibits) also acts to convert progesterone into the neurotransmitter allopregnanalone, and two other transmitters. Why this happens is unknown.

Your Free Testosterone is very low. It looks very similar to mine.

I would recommend adding these to your next: T3, Free T3, T4, Free T4, IGF1/IGF3, Vit D & get an ACTH stimulation test done or a 24 hour saliva test done.

There have a bunch of us with the thyroid/adrenal problem on top of all of the other problems. The more consistency we can see with the blood tests the better.

My PSA was .4 ng/ml. (Range >4) Anyone know what it should be for a healthy 30 year old? It seems low to me like Propecia really shrunk my prostate. Level was taken right around time of my crash which was about 8 months ago.
