The VA doctors i.e. urologists , Chiefs of Staff and Administrators are refusing to recognize , diagnose , nor treat in any way Post Finasteride Syndropme- PFS We need help the press, investigators , researchers and veterans who have been given finasteride by the Veterans Administration i.e. urologists and others . We also need lawyers for filing a disability discrimination lawsuit for failure to recognize PFS , diagnose nor treat such even with hormones or provide counseling and therapy, etc martial therapy etc for PFS .
The VA has a population that exists of almost 50% older adults . Almost 25% of that population is being treated for enlarged prostate or BPH . The VA urologists most used drug is finasteride 1 to 5mg generic along with 5alpha blockers i.e. advodart, tamsculin , etc in which urologists and VA doctors and administrators are telling veterans this is a safe drug with no permanent side effects despite FDA warnings. Urologists and others including a VA chief of staff at a VAMC have stated in writing that in fact when one ceases finasteride any adverse effects of the drug go away and there are no permanent side effects from finasteride and thus no PFS . Further in writing the VA has stated no one specializes in post finasterdie syndrome . Hormone Blood test which are indicative of PFS are failing to be done and when done by the VA or outside PFS doctors -researchers such low low level hormone blood tests are being ignored as well as all outside evaluations and research articles on Post Finasteride syndrome . Urologists and other doctors, Chief of staffs at the veterans administration refuse treatment or diagnoses or any outside consults to specialists claiming PFS does not exist. They claim its all due to ones enlarged prostate or that one had hormone problems before starting finastide in combination as well with 5A blockers .
In addition the neurological and psychological adverse symptomology of PFS is put on a veterans preexisting mental health disability i.e. depression, Bi polar, PTSD, etc which has been in check for years with or without medications . There is no prescreening criteria in place for prescribing finasterdie and its handed out like candy by urologists and VA doctors with no warnings and no screening and claiming its a 100% safe drug .
Further, since VA patients are told by VA pharmacy personel at local VAMC that only doctors can report permanent or adverse effects of a bad drug , no reports of PFS or adverse symptomology at all has been reported to VA pharmacy on the drug finasteridee and other 5A blockers despite being given to 20-25% of the VA population for enlarged prostate or BPH. All symptomology is blamed by doctors on ones enlarged prostate or that one had hormonal problems before starting finasteride while VA urologist fail to even do a base line hormonal blood tests nor any hormonal; blood tests even when a veteran becomes totally impotent from the drug, shrinkage of genitals, watery sperm, enlarged breasts , weight gain , loss of strength, lethargic , etc. VA doctors and administrators and chiefs of staff have stated in writing as well that no one specializes in PFS and that the FDA also states that there is no permanent effects from finasteride which is in fact a lie , that the National Institute of Health is bogus in their listing , and have refused to look nor read any research. They have chosen out of context one line from some urological review claiming the urology association does not recognize PFS . Veterans are having suicidal ideology and suicide from the drug in which this is blamed illegally on their service connected PTSD or bi polar or depression etc . Further officials lie claiming they know post finasteride syndrome at the VA and try to treat veterans illegally for the psychiatric neurological effects with anti depressants causing suicide in veterans with PFS .
We have written proof of this via medical records etc. These doctors and urologists and VA administrators and Chiefs of staff of the VA refuse to talk with outside researchers and diagnostic evaluators of PFS telling mseylf and others these doctors -reserachers are bogus such as DR Irwig, DR Allen Jacobs, DR Ann Ganzer etc and refuse to call them nor return phone calls from them .
There is clear discrimination against PFS as a disability and in giving any medical treatment or help for it by the Veterans Administration.
