Very high prolactin level, how can i tackle it?

Hi there.

I would like to know if someone have had any results against down libido and erection disfunction by using Dostinex. My prolactin level is 39 now. I stopped taking propecia 2 years ago (i was on it for about 3 years and a half) but i have gone through some sexual and mental (principally brain fog) problems that is why i stopped taking it

I am sorry but I cannot post my full blood test as my doctor keep it to consult an endo as she had never seen such a high prolactin level in a man. I got tested with an eco to discard tiroid malformation and this stuff 6 months ago. My level of free testo is ok 9 and lh and fsh are inside the margens, although very low, she said.

This is driving my crazy and i have been doing worse over the last two years. 6 months ago my prolactin level was 23 and the bloody urologist said that it was normal ( what the hell ). He said that was a psicological problem and sent me home. I accepted it as i believed i could not know more than a doctor but here is the good one, my prolactin is 15 points higher now and my sexual problems also bigger.

Moreover, i have no problems with colestero, progesterone or any others. My full test shown that prolactin is the most significant problem

Any help will be really appreciated.

Sorry for my poor english but i am another spanish with sexual and mental problems and doctors here may be more skeptical than in USA lol

Yes, there was a guy here who had high prolactin, got it down with medication, and felt much better sexually. Do a search for dostinex, cabergoline or bromocriptine.

Cheers mew.

As i said i am waiting for my doctor to start the dostinex treatment to see if i have some improvement. My free testo is all right so i don´t see any problem but high prolactin

On the other hand, i really have had this problem about forgetting names and light brain fog. I would like to know if there is some med to solve this too. My doctor said that is very difficult to check how my mind is working but i read something about some tests that can be done to see if your brain is also affected by finasteride.

Btw i have been trying natural stuff for sexual and mental problem and no big help. Maca, arginine, tribulus… nothing worked out pretty much.

Many thanks for your help

Hi there:

As i wanted to make sure i had a problem with prolactin level before taking any medication (dostinex as everybody knows). I have gotten tested 3 times over the last 2 months. The last time i got tested with a full hormone panel that i read in a topic above.

Well, to sum up here we go:

T4L- 0,80 (0,78-2,19)
TSH- 2,40 (0,46-4,68)
LH- 6,7 (1,5-8)
FSH- 1,7 (1,5-15)
PROL- 20,5 (2,1-17)
Estradiol 17-Beta 64 (Max 60)
Testosterone 6 (3,5-11)
Free testosterone 14 (7,2-27)
Progesterone 1,1 (Max 1)
Alpha 5dht 0,46 (0,3-1)
cortisone 1,28 (max 2)

Apparently, my prolactine went down naturally from 38 to 20 (doctors say that prl fluctuates a lot, still high in my opinion though) and profesterone is slightly high as well.
The other part of this hormone panel seems to be pretty normal so i am just posting what i think may be relevant.

My main problems are still very low libido and very poor erections (when i get them, sometimes this is not even possible)

I would appreciate any comments on this and if u still think prolactine would work on my problems bringing down PRL adn PRGT.

What do you think about t4 and fsh, very low as well, right?

Thank you
