Has anyone had any experience with valtrex? Have to take it for herpes, worried about potential pfs interactions. It’s an anti viral
Hey, I used to take it for HSV2 to prevent outbreaks, and before PFS, I never had any noticeable side effects. However, one of my PFS symptoms is small fiber neuropathy, where my nerves feel like they’re on fire or being stabbed (depending on the expression in the moment), and the only time I took valtrex, which was admittedly early on into PFS, I had a flare of small fiber neuropathy.
To give some plausible counterweight thought, my small fiber neuropathy is partially stress mediated, and I was super worried about triggering a flare when I took valtrex, so that could have been a contributing factor.
In short: yes, I had an adverse effect, but it might not have been due to valtrex.
