USA Weekend Knocks Finasteride...

I didn’t see this until yesterday, but “The Doctors” section in the July 4 edition of USA Weekend, the Parade magazine competitor that’s inserted into newspapers nationwide, ran a story titled:

“Save Your Libido: Are you unknowingly sabotaging your love life?”

Note this passage:

“Recent research also suggests libido problems that have been linked to taking finasteride, a medication used to treat male pattern baldness and enlarged prostate, that could continue even after men stop taking the drug.”

Also note that USA Weekend has a weekly circulation of 22.5 million. That’s a LOT of people being warned on the dangers of finasteride.

Whoa, that twitter account tweeted a moveon.org petition. It has over 60 signatures in two days:

Looks like people are demanding Merck help with the mess they created. I recommend everyone sign it. Non-US residents can sign it too. Just put 00000 for the zip code.
