Treatment success probability? How long to wait?

Hi everyone,

Thank you in advance for any help you can give me at this somewhat distressing time.

My story: I guess I’m the latest PFS victim! I was on finasteride for about 3 years and dutasteride for about 4 months. My libido was low but still there on these drugs. About two months ago I had a sudden drop in libido and I stopped taking dut after about a week.
My libido hasn’t recovered since then, so my questions are:

  1. It’s been two months. Should I start seeking treatment? On fin I know it would be clear that I have PFS but I know the dut half-life is like a month. Is it time to start freaking the fuck out?

  2. Everyone is saying Clomid, hcg and testosterone therapy are the big treatments but that they don’t work. Is it that they never work or that they work half the time? Very seldom? What’s everyone’s impression?

  3. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH I AM FREAKING THE FUCK OUT.

Thanks again!

Hate to be a prophet of gloom, but there is no ‘treatment’, just guesses from some handful of Md’s willing to experiment. I’ve met with four different highly regarded USC , or UCLA Md’s in L.A. and they kind of shrug and say things along the lines of “we could try this or that or…”

Gotcha - thanks for your reply.

I appreciate that noone really knows whats going on here but some people do report at least moderate recovery its not like nothing improves anything ever. So…does anyone have any idea of the probabilities?

The best thing to do is have a natural approach and help your body recover itself. Moderate exercise helps a lot and many have reported to have improved on a low processed/natural diet. There are foods that boost dopamine in the brain, they help as well. Time is your best ally.

Hi hurt_soul, thanks for your advice.
Have you had much success with this approach?
