Hi folks,

Can everybody add their thoughts what you think is the best adjuvant treatment that a newbie should follow after he quits finasteride?Of course dont forget the bloodtest work.

Here is my opinion…

Essentials adjuvants
1.Garlic+high protein diet(cheese) to boost Testosteron production
2.Ginseng
3.Ibuprofen or Aspirin avoid Prostate inflamation
4.Multivitamins:Especialy Zn(50mg) and vitamin C
5.Brocolli-estrogen reduction
6.Antibiotics-avoid prostatitis
7.Light exercise:biking,swimming,Cardio in gym(15 min 4 times a week)-very important for recovery
8.Melatonin or 5-HTP- good sleep(sleeping 6-8 hours a night is very important)
9.Ejaculation-prostate health and testosterone production-once a week
10.Grape,grapefruit and orange juices
11.Horny goat weed and MACA
12.Fish
13.Hot baths,sauna-prostate relaxation

Adjuvants that may help
1.Bananas
2.Evening primrose oil-proceed with caution with this one
3.Organic foods-thai food with shrimp
4.Tomato juice and vegetables
5.Milk thistle-help liver
6.Prostate massage
7.Red wine, grapes because they contain resveratrol
8.AminoAcid suplements:especially Tyrosine(500mg)to help prostate healing and avoid body resources depletion

Things to avoid:
1.Overtraining and weight lifting

6.Green tea-stimulant
7.Pseudoeffedrine-stimulant

9.Long airline flights with different timezones
10.Shampoo for hair lost

So any thoughts?I’m sorry if I missed this part in the FAQ section

Good list…

I have been eating vegan w/ very little red meat. This is a prostate friendly diet!

Jimmi: how long were you on the above list. I have been off propecia for almost 2 years now and still suffering from the side effects. I feel disconnect between my libido and my penis. No erections during the day evening if I am out with a beautiful woman. I do wake up with morning erections from time to time. Doctors tell me everything is normal its in my head. thks

I’m on this treatment for 1 month and I 've quit finasteride for 1 and a half month or more. This treatment is my sugestion immediately after quiting for 3-6 month(1 year) to avoid certain problems like prostatitis, high cortisol levels, low testosterone. Therefore beachtree you need to post your bloodtests and post it as a separate topic:low libido can be caused by many factors:penis vascular problems, hypotiroydism, low testosterone, high estrogens, even adrenal fatigue can cause low libido by imbalance of some hormones so do your blood tests first.

Why avoid DHEA?

Wouldn’t that help get testosterone up? aren’t dhea levels low post fin-nasty-ride?

DHEA can be counter-productive by converting to estrogen.

Not a bad list at all, I could give some suggestions to make it more effective but I hate to sound like a broken record and maybe you’ve read some of my other posts. You should be really careful with pseudoephedrine because it is a somewhat strong stimulant. Be careful with the red wine as well, since alcohol does increase estrogens and reduce T as well as being bad for the liver. One thing you may wanna consider is taking a ZMA supplement instead of a regular zinc one.

Why not weight lifting??? (without overtraining)
I think it should increase T and stimulate endocrine system.

Nice job putting together a plan of action for newly minted Fin-quitters.

Having read through lots of old posts, though, I would avoid Milk Thistle, IMHO.

For reference, I found this pretty disturbing milk thistle post:

Also this thread here that went on for 10 pages. It started out sounding like we found a cure, with multiple forum members trying out the product. But by page 9 and 10, all but one reported that they gave up on the milk thistle, often due to negative experiences. The last hold out was a woman, who of course has an entirely different endrocrine system. viewtopic.php?f=6&t=5969&hilit=thistle&start=160
