Took Fin, Crashed, Became Normal and Healthy Again

Hey Anik,
I would say about a month. It wasn’t steady improvements either. Some days were easier and some days harder. Also, even after the first month, I would still descend back into a foggy/anxious state after drinking for about 3-5 months after quitting. Masturbation would also have similar effects.

Essentially, I would be feeling like everything was improving, then I would drink or masturbate, and that would tend to push me back into an anxious state.

I don’t mean for this to sound as though these are the two solutions to PFS, but no alcohol, no masturbation, and healthy living really helped for me.

During your 3 weeks off of fin, have you noticed any serious improvements?

Thanks for this detailed info oglog!
I have 3 more questions:

  1. Are you completely back to normal now?
  2. How long did you follow this schedule to get back to your current state?
  3. Did you take some additional supplements like MACA, Tribulus Territerris, etc during your recovery period?

Thanks again!

Hey charvikaur99,
Ya no problem man. After going through this stuff, I can’t imagine being “stuck” in recovery and having these problems persist for months and months.

  1. I would definitely say I’m back to normal. I think I reached COMPLETELY normal after a year, but functional normal in like a month or so. After a year, I could go out drinking heavily and not worry about severe anxiety the next day. Same with orgasming.

  2. WIth recovery, I felt normal after a month. However, I was prone to panic attacks for about a year. The day after drinking or excessive masturbation normally brought these on, or extremely stressful situation like final exams.

  3. I don’t recall taking any supplements throughout this. I do always take whey protein but otherwise I don’t think so.

Thanks for the response Oglog691. I have seen significant improvement since the first few days off fin. The first week was the worst. Had constant anxiety, sleep problems and brain fog. I still have some anxiety when I step out to go somewhere and brain fog is still a problem, although at times I do think and see things clearer while other times not so much. Sleep has also gotten better but I still have some problems with sleep. In the beginning, I would be tired but right before I fall asleep, I would snap back awake. Now, i sleep a little better but it feels like a semi conscious sleep. Doesn’t feel like I got a good nights sleep.
Any thoughts on this? Thanks.

Hi oglog691,

When PFS set in how severe was erectile dysfunction for you? Were you able to get a normal erection although with difficulty during PFS? When you jerked off was it completely erect and were you able to maintain an erection?
Without any cialis or similar meds were you capable enough to have sex(although with difficulty) during PFS?

Thank you

Hey Anik,
I would definitely try some exercise, anything to get your body tired, but not stressed.

Sorry for replying so late, noticed you posted this 11 days ago. Have you been feeling better?

Hey Charv,
the ED was pretty severe, compared to life before the crash. I had to really try to get hard, and even when I was hard it was still somewhat flaccid. I never had sex during the recovery, and even if the opportunity presented itself, I definitely don’t think I would have been able to perform.

I have seen some improvement although the main issue for me right now is the brain fog. My mind still doesn’t seem sharp like how it use to be. Can you describe what you’re brain fog was like?

Ya brain fog was interesting. I just felt dull. Like as though I smoked a TON of weed the day prior. Or like my spirit was lagging with my body. Like I could go about my day and my body would do things like chores or homework but my mind was constantly lagging behind, not fully aware of what was going on.

This is where I would recommend exercise. Something about intentionally connecting your spirit/mind with what your body is doing (i.e. lifting weights) seemed to help. I had to get my mind ready for a lift that my body was about to perform.

Hi oglog,

When you were in the recovery period did you feel some heaviness around the front of your neck? If yes, did it subsided eventually?

For me it did not use to happen before pfs hit. But every now and then there is that heaviness always.

Please help. Awaiting your response.

Thanks.

Hey,
No I can’t say I remember anything like that. Hows everything going? You doing ok?

Lucky guy

Thanks for replying!

I feel I have improved a bit than before. Honestly speaking I have still not consistently followed the regime suggested by you. But, after noticing this bit improvement I think that regime is the main thing that will bring the whole difference.

Are you experiencing any issues as of now? Do you feel completely normal at this point even without working out?

Charv

Ya I do feel completely normal at this point in life. Its been about 4 years since I had taken finasteride. Are you working a job or anything currently? Is your life feeling almost back to normal at this point? What type of symptoms are you still experiencing?

Great to hear that oglog. Yes, I am currently working. Its not a moving job though. I work from home and stay at home.
For First 5 months after leaving finasteride I experienced severe ED, sleeping issues, panic attacks and anxiety. After that I feel that sleeping issues, panic attacks have improved. But ED has not improved that much. Although I havent consistently followed the regime that you told. Only thing I focus on now is to get this ED issue sorted completely.
I really have faith in the solution you suggested also because I went through the exact same symptoms as you did and to be precise I took propecia for exactly 3 months as you did.
I have just started working out and following the regime as told by you. Lets see. Hope for the best.

So you had symptoms only for 1 month?

Ya, at least symptoms that were affecting me strongly.

Hi oglog, was it 4 years back or 6? It might be a typo.
