To quit or not

Hi there,

I know most people on this forum would answer that with a resounding “QUIT” before even reading the rest, but I’d still like to try to get an objective view.

I’ve been taking Propecia for approximately 4 months now.

Initially, the only side effect I noticed was a reduction of semen viscosity.

Apart from that, my sex drive was still very high, was able to get good erections and have sex for over an hour, etc.

I’ve always had minor ED, I think, as occassionally things just wouldn’t work (well prior to starting Propecia).

The last two days; however, feel different. With my girlfriend, I didn’t get an erection without physical stimulation (usually it at least partially comes with a bit of foreplay). Secondly, I lost the erection within 4-5 minutes.

This happened both two days ago and yesterday. Both times I was able to finish but losing it multiple times and then getting it back.

Now I’ve had issues in the past, mostly psychological, but recently I’ve been 100% fine (up until the last two days).

My question is, is it time to give Propecia away? I can’t be sure if it’s the Propecia causing this or not, but while I still have fairly good functionality, maybe I should quit while I’m ahead?

The hair loss does depress me and reduces my confidence, but not being able to get or maintain an erection consistently would destroy it.

Thoughts?

Do not post here if you are taking the drug. Read:

If you are having issues, get off and see if they resolve. The symptoms you describe are consistent with the problems men here experience from the drug (loss of erections, reduction in ejaculate etc – side effects listed by the manufacturer).

If you continue to post while taking drug, you will be banned. Sorry, we get redundant questions like this all the time cluttering the forum from people that continue to take the medication even though it may/may not be causing them problems… the only way to know is to stop using it for a few weeks and see if things improve.

My apologies. I was under the wrong impression of the forum.

I’d like to mention I have in fact stopped the drug and things have returned to almost normal. I have no idea whether this is related to stopping it or not, but I’m giving it a miss and maybe try another treatment for hair loss.

Thanks for your reply, though.
