Is your sense of reality slowly changing over time to normal feeling?
If so, what exactly did you change in your diet / supplements / habbits ?
I used to suffer of strong brain fog everydays… after sometimes it was better and I said that my brain fog was gone…from 5 weeks I’m using acth injections (it’s an hormone) and I didn’t remember what was the reality, now I feel my brain fog has almost all gone away.
What helped me at the first time was l-tyrosine and l-phenylelenine.
Hey
Did tyrosine/phenylalaine really help? I am looking into that…
they did something for me…somebody says it helps other says it dosn’t.
it did something for me.
I’m really curious about hearing more about the ACTH.
Apparently ACTH is involved in the positive feelings people have when drinking alcohol. That’s notable to me, because alcohol is one of the only things that helps me feel more “normal” (except for the inebriation)
How did you begin receiving these injections? What did your dr find?
I think you are confusing ACTH (a pituitary hormone that acts on the adrenals) with Allopregnanolone (a neurosteroid that acts on GABA-A receptors in the brain).
It is Allopregnanolone that increases when alcohol is consumed and gives you relaxing feelings… per propeciahelp.com/forum/viewt … =7264#7264
I used ACTH and felt better and improvements things ,but I still have isuues… About alchool I think it affactes the gaba trasmission and the dopamine ,so u feel better .
MEW, is there a general recommendation to take a supplement or some course of action that may help correct this GABA problem, that seems to have worked for a good number of people? Or is it really just a situation where we have identified the probable culprit but still do not have a good idea how to reverse the trend?
Wish I had an answer but there doesn’t seem to be a consensus on this one yet.
HOWEVER, there was a synthesis someone did years ago about the potential neurological dangers 5AR inhibitors may pose. In the article, the author made some recommendations to protect against potential damage. I quoted the relevant passage in my post here:

In addition, Omega 3 fish oils are definitely worth taking as they have POSITIVE impacts on brain health and function, including neuronal/axonal growth and transmission.
You might want to have a read through the Neurtransmitter & Neurosteroids subforum for other areas worth looking at: propeciahelp.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=23
There are anti-psychotic drugs which can boost Allopregnanolone levels but they carry very severe side effects, including death if overdosed. We don’t even know if Allopregnanolone has been “permanently” affected so this is strictly theoretical, and I am not advocating people just jump on these drugs.

Unfortunately there is no commercially available lab tests to check for Allopregnanolone levels, such testing is only available in medical research labs, so until we have a research study done on us, we’ll never know the true state of our Allopregnanolone/GABA-A function.
MEW, the post you referred me to alludes to a quote of antibiotics killing gut bacteria and increasing the free DHT in the blood which in turn stimulates androgen receptors.
I read your story and am very similar in that I have never taken medications constantly, my first try at this was a horrible one. Could you help me translate the quote about increasing free DHT and stimulating the androgen receptors.
Is this a good thing? Would it work if you only used it for a normal antibiotic cycle, or would the positive effect disappear immediately upon cessation? Which antibiotics would this apply to, or is it all of them?
I know you do not have all the answers, and you are guessing just like everyone else here, when I ask you questions it is because you have been at this a lot longer and have really learned enough about it to have a better idea than I might have.
I know this could be a repetitive question cause i ve already asked it to Mew but,to what about to add some progesterone in our body,so it will be converted in allopregnenolone .
