The ringing in my ears coupled with anxiety and other mental sides have left me in hell. This cant continue, im being tortured by my own body. I would easily choose to be dead soon if this continues. This is unbelievably hard to live with. So what point do you say enough, its more painful to live?
Yeah its hell. A different kind of “hell” that alot of men on this forum apparently think they are going through.
Just hold on, let your anger out when it comes, keep your head down on the bad days, take walks on sunny days. Believe that there will be a day where everything goes back to normal, and know that this wont happen if you are dead.
Try some of that udos oil that another user has promoted as a brainfog treatment.
Its hard, i know, its real hard, if you want to talk more pm me.
I will always choose to live no matter what. Some of us have kids to take care of…if not I would out myself and not worry about it.
But yeah this has to be hell, scared all the fukin time and in pain. I don’t even wanna go to sleep anymore…or even try. I know tomorrow will be the same. I’m terrified of it.
I’ve noticed my sense of time is screwed up as well. A week feels like a month…most likely because of the suffering.
I know the stigma about antidepressants but i might have to get on one at this point. My stepmom has been on them since 23 shes happy and perfectly fine. If i feel weird ill stop i guess.
I keep thinking, logically it was one pill/chemical that had this chain reaction to wreak havoc. Maybe if they pinpoint the problem, a treatment could theoretically start to reverse that chain reaction and all the interconnected symptoms. Idk if it works like that. But something tells me its possible. If one chemical has the power to change so many organ systems, there must be a chemical to get those functioning properly. I hope so. Until then im at the mercy of PFS!
YES! I see it the same. There must be a way, dont lose hope man!!!
I remember the first several months were unreal, just so, so awful … just feeling like hell all day and literally could not sleep more than an hour or two of shitty quality sleep, sometimes not at all, pain all over my body, headaches, i wanted to die … i am still wrecked beyond words from finasteride, HOWEVER, in my opinion, the first several months were by far the most debilitating, and i would not be surprised if you were able to function better down the line … do NOT give up, no matter what
Man thats good to hear. Im only 3+ months, so hopefully it does get better.
in my personal, 3 months was still VERY early days and was simply awful, so i know what you mean … just hang tight, life will be better man
I would recomen whitenoise Cd or whitenoise video on youtube. Lets me deal with my tinnitus . I masks ringing in the ears.
Has anybody found any drug that can help with tinnitus. I was convinced that theanine will help but no luck . Used it for 2 days only.
I’ve tried a lot of treatments for tinnitus with little success. The best one is trying to reduce stress over time, and masking with white noise if you can’t sleep. Yoga and meditation are good. You want to quiet the mind. I can tell you what to avoid though, and if you have PFS it’s likely you’re already avoiding them. Anything with a neuro-excitatory effect: Caffeine, alcohol, tobacco, and aspirin, and especially artificial sweeteners.
For me it came on in 2006 (well before my crash) right after a very stressful period in my life (death in the family, illness, breakup). Sound familiar? In hindsight, am sure this was related to fin. Something I can tell you is that if you have sudden hearing loss (where literally it comes on VERY quickly, accompanied by tinnitus, ENTs may put you on a course of prednisone. It helps some, and has no effect for others. It depends if you either have an inflammation in the inner ear. But my (non-medical) theory is that PFS tinnitus is caused by an issue with neurosteroids. If you have insurance it might be worth having a hearing test and seeing an ENT. You want see a doc who is an Oto-neurologist or Neuro-Otologist, not just a standard ENT. In NYC I eventually settled on docs at NY Eye and Ear, but I hear NYU also has a great ENT dept. Plus the audiologist and ENT are in the same place so you don’t have to make two stops.
I tried arches tinnitus formula for about a year. It has Ginkgo, garlic, bioflavonoids, and a megadose B-complex. It might have helped a tiny bit, but not enough to offset the price of it!
I would be VERY curious to see if there’s a specific frequency range in which fin victims have lost their hearing. Mine is a mid-frequency dip surrounding the 1K range.
Does anyone use a Tinnitus-Noiser to beat this shit?
