Timing of Medication

At what times did you guys typically take your medication (fin, dut, saw-p, etc.)? In the morning, afternoon, or night? Or did it just vary?

Also, did you take it on an empty stomach or with food?

I usually took mine at night, before bed i think. Cant remember if it was on an empty stomach or not tho…

Can more people please answer this post.

I took mine first thing in the morning, always on an empty stomach

Why does it matter? Doesn’t the propecia package insert say it doesn’t matter when or how you take it as long as you take it once daily?

I took it whenever I woke up, empty stomach (Proscar 1.25 mg) for approximately 8+ years.

morning, empty stomach (most of the time)

I ask because I feel like there is some other outside influence on our body that caused us to get sick. I say this because

  1. not everybody who took these drugs got sick
  2. some people who got sick took these drugs on more than one occasion and only got sick after the second time… and
  3. others like me took Propecia (two rounds) no problem, took Avodart, no problem, took Avodart again, then I got sick.

This leads me to believe that there is something external that we are doing to ourselves that makes us get sick, and not so much in our genes.

I’m trying to see how this fits into my theory about the drugs being stored in our body. I took Propecia for years at night empty stomach and no problem. I think when I started taking Avodart during the morning with very sweetened coffee is when I got sick. Like the insulin spike from the sugar might have caused my body to store the drug rather than to metabolize it out…especially considering the drugs half-life. Avodart has a 5 week half life. Propecia has an 8 hour half life I believe. If you eat something that spikes your insulin, it might cause the drug to get stored in you even if you took it a few hours before eating (morning)… granted this is all part of a theory I know most of you don’t agree with.

I always took the drug first thing in the morning.

At night before bedtime. Judging by the results of this thread it clearly made no difference when we took it
