This is good news. I’m praying the rest of us also have a similar panel. I just found a lab that does Reverse T3 and will go tomorrow morning. So your doctor didn’t think TRH stimulation test was necessary?
I definitely have shoddy thyroid and adrenal fatigue numbers but can’t see how this relates to complete erectile dysfunction. Mitch did not have total ed. Nonetheless it may help with other symptoms and is worth pursuing.
the theory is that the body has many enzymatic reactions which occur at 37 degrees celcius and if your temps are low they are obviously not running correctly leading to all sorts of other problems like low T which can give you ED
i got my tests done today…should have results in 2 weeks.
awesome! which ones did you get?
cumkwakka,
Have you been taking your temperature regularly? I have been having doing it everyday. My temperature only goes above 98.6 for 2 hours or so. I have read that the key to understanding the validity of body temperature is to determine your average for the day.
My avg for the day would be well below 98.6. I need to do enough days to come up with my average, which I haven’t done yet.
i am not doing it anymore now since im still too low on thyroid meds, 3 grains armour now, i need to go higher and will be starting in a month when i am getting my erfa thyroid, which is also sublingual and supposedly has better absorption
i used to take temps and they were low, for my 3 grains i did it as well and still low at some times
the key is average for a day yes, i am not really familiair with your degrees you have to look up whats normal, i use the celcius scale 36,6-36,8 is best

Luckyfax, Having thryoid problems for a long period of time and not knowing it can cause all kinds of long term sexual problems. Besides, we really don’t know the depths of how bad Mitch’s situation was.
Read this guy’s story. It sounds awful similar to ours.

I had read somewhere that it is possible that an increase in estrogen for an extended period of time can cause thyroid problems. I mention this because I see far more of this disease directed towards woman than men.
I got FT3, FT4, TSH, and Reverse T3 done along with other hormones. Will post results in couple weeks
Looks like u found out the problem with most guys here, all the syptoms fit and now u have numbers that prove it.I have read that depending on ur body type that some guys naturally get over thyroid probs, while others never do without meds. Here is a piece of an article I read below.
The results were reported in a study, which found that 79% of men with thyroid dysfunction some degree of ED (52% of the men with hypothyroidism and 27% of the men with hyperthyroidism.) Severe ED was found in almost 38.% of the men with hypothyroidism and 29.6% of the men with hyperthyroidism. In general, ED was found in a significantly larger number of patients with hyperthyroidism (71%) and hypothyroidism (85%) as compared with controls (25%). After thyroid treatment to restore levels to normal, 30% of the patients had ED, a rate similar to that of a control group without thyroid problems.
I went to the doctor to get a rt3 test and he said he never heard of it…rang some labs …never heard of it…? Dont know what to do
Tim - Here is a link to the test at quest diagnostics - dunno if they are in new Zealand though. questdiagnostics.com/hcp/tes … abCode=SJC - also, I have posted earlier in this thread an online lab which you can request this test by mail yourself for 59 dollars. Try that if you can’t find it locally.
I’m posting this link on this Thyroid Thread, because we really need realize that uless you treat potential thyroid problems it is unlikely they will go away on their own.
The guy who wrote this thread’s name is Phil. He suffered with Low T and Thyroid problems for 24 years. No doctor had been able to diagnose him properly and he has been trying to spread awareness about the under dianosis of this disease. His goal is to shorten the timeline for other men to realize their problem.
Ironically, he took propecia as well. I have no idea for how long. He may well have taken it for hair loss that occurs with hypothyroid disease. I’m sure it made him worse as well.
The guy had to have Open Heart bypass surgery.

The only thing I don’t like about the guys regimen, is he is using a ton of stuff. I really hope when all can have a “Mitch like recovery” and not been on this crap for life.
This is phil aka pmgamer from the crisler and meso boards. He never took propecia he warns other men off it all the time 'cos he sees so many of us end up with Low T and ed on the boards.

He had auto accident got his pitutary screwed up that is why on TRT.Many poeple on TRT,if u ask them used some herbal supplements in the past, and got messed up.
I was reading an article that states that it takes about 6 months to cure ed after reaching a euthyroid state heres a paragraph from it.
Men with thyroid dysfunction commonly have ED that is reversible with restoration of the euthyroid state. Although screening for ED is recommended for these men, specific treatment should be postponed for at least 6 months after restoring euthyroidism because it may take this long for ED to spontaneously resolve
Reverse T3 result 25/6/2010
786 on range (140 to 540)
Started on slow release T3 50mcg per day made by compound pharmacy today.
JN
Anyone heard from JN?
He has been on the slow release T3 for about 10 days and I haven’t seen any posts at all positive or negative about it’s effect. I’m really curious to know if this is helping at all, as I sit and wait for my thyroid test results.
So you guys are saying the cause of our problems is due to thyroid issues. Well, I am a pretty thin guy, I weigh 152 pounds and 5 foot nine. I’m guessing most of you are having trouble keeping weight off? Are any of you like me in that you have symptoms of thyroid issues however are thin?

I am thin. Thyroid symptoms are many and not everyone is effected by them all.
JN is very thin as well I believe and has High Reverse T3.
