Seriously I don’t know why someone hasn’t thought of combining all this crap and selling it as a quit-smoking aid… I think I may have just found myself a new entrepeneuring oppurtunity, any investors out there? haha just kidding
But in all seriousness, none of us here are in any position to be reducing the quality of our health in any way, and nicotine is a tough habit to break, especially if you’re really feeling down and shitty about this whole thing. I feel a bit bad writing this article since I failed quitting, but then again I’ve also failed quitting with chantix and the nicotine patch, it’s definitely more of a psychological thing for me that I need to overcome, it’s tough letting go of that buzz. But my next step is to use a tapering off method of quitting combined with the supplements. There’s a website which has a service of sending a text message to your phone whenever you are allowed to have a cigarette. I can’t find it right now, but I will search for it.
Some relevant negatives of smoking cigarettes is that, like caffeine, it does cause adrenal fatigue. It restricts blood flow. And yes, it does kill libido. After about a week or so (maybe even sooner) one will recover an overall feeling of vitality.
Without further ado here is a routine that WILL help you out. If you are going to quit smoking, I suggest you pick a day to do it. If it is a weekend where you are going out, it is not good since chances are you’re going to be surrounded by smokers who may readily bum one out to you. When you do it, you may want to ask people close to you to not smoke around you, but it might be inevitable, so really just stay commited and grip yourself. I also don’t think it is a good idea to just quit cigarettes in the middle of the day, but then again it might help you out.
Right before you go to sleep for the night before the day you quit, take a nice dose of Milk Thistle. This will help your liver rid your body of nicotine more quickly.
First thing in the morning before you eat breakfast you should take a good dose of l-tyrosine. Nicotine literally fucks your dopamine receptors, and this is what helps fix it. Also you might want to take herb pharm’s “Calm Breath” tincture. This stuff clears up your bronchial tubes and can help give you a jump start at feeling the delights of better breathing and increased lung capacity.
After breakfast wait to digest a little bit, and at least an hour before lunch take a good dose of l-phenylalanine. This has a very similar effect as l-tyrosine.
You’ll probably be delighted to find out that you’re really not doing so bad right now. It is not over yet though!
After lunch take a nice dose of ginseng, all three kinds preferrably. You might also want to take some ginko biloba, I have a GNC blend which also includes gotu kola and eleuthero root. Take a good multi-vitamin. And also, take a heavy dose of St. John’s Wort, and make sure you do because this stuff is key! St. John’s Wort is a very nifty herb and it does have withdrawal reducing properties.
Also taking a good adrenal fatigue supplement such as Reset AD or herb pharm’s adrenal support tonic, or both will help you out, I think you can figure out yourself what time of the day to take it.
Finally, right before you go to bed, take a dose of 5-htp and congratulate yourself that you made the whole day without smoking a cigarette.
If you have any cravings the next day (which I honestly think you might not) just repeat the procedure once more. After a week or so you will actually feel happier and more alive, trust me when I say that this regimen works as good as chantix or the patch as any other, I would say better because you are helping your own body fight the heart of the problem directly.
I hope this helps, come to think of it I think I might just do this this Tuesday without the tapering off method.
