This site could be useful...

Hey so I was browsing through the forums as usual and looking through all the older posts to get myself to catch up on all this shit.

Well… you know those ads by google things on the page that are always on here? Well after seeing that gross ass Eczema break through ad with the baby with the really bad rash on his face for a million times something else actually came up…

This ad really struck me, it was a light blueish looking ad with a picture of a kid holding a bottle of pills. The ad looked very clean and proffesional. And what did the ad say? Something along the lines of peer reviewed journal for practicing endocronologists. The layout of site looks very clean and proffesional though I have not read anything yet…

Well here, take a look, I think hypo might eat this up…

I think there might be a lot of potentially useful information on this site and it might serve as a good resource, but I could also be wrong.

So far on this site not a single person has replied to any of my posts. But if I had to choose one post where I’d really like some feedback it’s this one. So please guys look at it and tell me what you think.

Crap… I forgot to add in one important detail, you have to subscribe to this thing and pay for it…

But if someone did and shared some useful information I would be forever grateful.

Thanks for the website link, seems to be another medical journal website.

Doing a search on the site for Finasteride turns up one item which doesn’t have much relevance to our situation.

Regardless, perhaps they will publish some materials which may be of interest in the future so always good to check.

Yeah it seems like they’re trying to come out with a male birth control pill that reduces the amount of LH and FSH I think…

I can only imagine how much thats gonna fuck some people up

This is another thing I found with the google ads thing on the site… it’s an ad that said “don’t take saw palmetto for prostate until you find out why it may do more harm than good”.

So it leads me to this page that sells a supplement, personally I think it’s a rip off to buy this thing, but whats written on the page makes some sense and goes along with what a lot of people have posted, and you can find these ingredients for cheaper at different sources.

I still can’t believe I’m having problems that normally only happen to people at least 30 years older than me!!!

Interesting that they say their product blocks Estrogen yet doesn’t have any specific ingredients like DIM that purportedly do just that.

You do realize Saw Palmetto blocks the action of DHT, right? If you have low T/DHT, this may not be such a good idea after taking Finasteride since in effect you will be doing the same thing to your body that you did with Fin, albeit via different (natural/herbal) mechanisms.

I did notice that, but what struck me in what they were saying is that elevated levels of estrogen can cause prostate problems and they also mentioned how your prostate can turn into an estrogen factory. I know this isn’t an official scientific kind of place I’m getting this stuff off of but I don’t think it sounds too far off.

I think it would be a good idea to research different types of naturally ocurring aromatase inhibitors…

Yes, if one increases Testosterone beyond normal levels in the body, the body has to do something with all that extra T. Usually DHT is there to keep estrogens in check, but not when you take Finasteride. So the two factors combined can lead to increased aromatization of T into E.

On Fin, T levels can be elevated up to 15% – and gynecomastia (male breasts due to elevated estrogen levels) is a noted side effect on the drug insert from Merck. Keep in mind, this is also in addition to any other potential high Estrogen-related side effects that can occur in men (ie, feeling emotional, depressed, loss of sex drive etc).

Hence why some recommend taking an anti-E drug like Arimidex while on Fin to keep E2 levels down. Unfortunately not many know these things before taking the drug, and Merck certainly doesn’t mention it outright – instead hinting at “breast tenderness or changes” in the drug insert, with no mention of monitoring estrogen levels.

A lot of guys on this site ended up with high Estradiol levels after taking Finasteride (self included, check the Bloodtests section), so this is definitely a very real effect for many of us.

The info is out there, and on this site (check Naturals section). Off top of my head:

  • DIM
  • I3C
  • Chrysin + Piperine
  • Zinc/Vitamin C

Has anyone had any success with this approach?

A lot of people on this site also mention about increasing dopamine levels…

Perhaps a combination approach would be best?
