IMO, when this is all said and done I will be right and you can print this. I believe that we all have a genetic predisposition to the effects of the drug to such a degree that we have experienced. Recently, I am finding out about people who took the drug for years and had some effects but never realized it and are ok now that they have stopped. Such as a few people that, like me when I was on it for 9 years, lost nocturnal and morning erections but never really thought about it. Others with minor loss of libido etc. One of my best friends took the drug for 3.5 years about 4 years ago. He felt absolutely fine but decided to have his testosterone tested because of my horror story and it was 240 on a scale of 250-1150. BUT he feels absolutely fine. It seems apparent that some of us are susceptible to the change more than others. I 100% believe that something is wrong with our progesterone receptor/gene. Progesterone is a calming/anti-anxiety hormone. I realize that many of us are extremely anxious type A personalities so perhaps we have weakened progesterone receptor sites/gene. I also believe the great majority of us, me included, had a shedding phase called telogen effluvium and were massively loosing hair/stressed out, when we turned towards this drug. I dont believe we were the test group aimed at with the finasteride/propecia studies. I have an extremely rare balance disorder that only occured when I was on finasteride, research in that area is now focusing in on the progesterone receptor as well.
