A variety of potential mechanisms of action of saw palmetto have been demonstrated through in vitro studies, including 5-α reductase inhibition, adrenergic receptor antagonism and intraprostatic androgen receptor blockade.
Quote:
Clinical evidence of the relevance of these effects is largely unavailable. The use of saw palmetto in men with benign prostatic hyperplasia is safe with no recognized adverse effects. No effect on serum prostate specific antigen has been noted.

The last quote should answer your question kirrabeachbum, almost all the
research on Saw Palmetto is done with small patient number and in
brief time.
Also you must understand that i do not develop all the side effects Immediately, it took around one year of taking two (2) 320mg extract a
day for the Ed and loss of libido to appear.
kirrabeachbum, you only use it for three weeks and what is the dose ? is it in standardise extract or not ? the non standardise extract
is not powerfull you will probably feel nothing. During the first two (2)
months i did not develop any side effect, and i mean not even one
side effect.
You should consider yourself lucky that your encounter with Anti DHT drug
such as saw palmetto and Finasteride only leaves you with Speech/tripping
over words.
