Hey guys,
I would like this thread to be for guys who have tried ‘the broccoli treatment’ (How did things go for you? etc…) , and for those who are interested in trying.
Here is the website:
prostatitis.org/broccaction.html
Here is my story: I took Propecia for 2 and 1/2 years. 3 Years ago I had to stop because I was having urination problems (thankfully, that was my only adverse side effect). I was going all. the. time. After I quit, the symptoms subsided, not completely, but enough to be tolerable. Occasionally I would have a ‘flair up’, in which the symptoms would get a little worse. The last time that happened (a few weeks ago), I did my research and found the broccoli treatment site.
Here is what I’ve been doing, 2 times a day, once before bed, once for breakfast:
- Bring 10 - 12 ounces of water to boil.
- Put in a medium - large cereal bowl worth of broccoli for 5 minutes.
- Eat the broccoli.
- Drink the broth that’s left over (yep, it’s gross).
- Wait 25 minutes.
- Drink an 8 ounce glass of orange juice.
Now, all the details make it sound a little crazy, but I’m following the letter of the law at least for peace of mind’s sake (that’s what the website says). I guess cooking it (but only for so long) ‘releases the enzymes’; waiting before you eat anything else helps with absorption. It’s not the funnest thing to choke down all of the broccoli (and the broth), but so far the results are worth it (it’s only been 1 week). The night before I started I got up 4 times to pee (and peed probably about every 45 minutes during the day). I’ve gotten up to pee once the past 3 nights combined (and I have to go much less during the day as well). I don’t know how things will go from here, but so far I’m thrilled. If I had to keep this up to maintain the results, I would.
Has anyone else had similar results? What should I expect in the (near and not so near) future? Again, I’ve only been doing this for a week (so take what I say with a grain of salt), but if you are having urinary problems, you might consider ‘the broccoli treatment’.
