Testosterone + Estrogen + PDE5Inhibitor

For me it’s like Goldilocks and the 3 bears: it has to be “just right”:

I can have penetrative sex, with a decent erection, IF:

  1. my total testosterone levels are not too low
  2. my estradiol level is neither too high nor too low (pushing it too low with an AI works against me)
  3. I take my levitra or viagra not too late when I want to have sex. (If I take it too close to the time of having sex, it kicks in after the encounter is over–and after I have been in the encounter with no erection)
  4. I have not been drinking more than 1 drink of alcohol
  5. I have not taken melatonin the night before
  6. I have not taken any ibuprofen/naproxen the same day
  7. I have gotten enough sleep
  8. I have gotten past any performance anxiety leading up to the sexual encounter
  9. I have not taken any other medication that can cause ED.

I find that topical testosterone is better than injectable testosterone.
I find that a higher strength (%age) of topical testosterone is better than lower %.
I find that if I take too much testosterone over time, the good effects disappear. Therefore I do not take many pumps of it per day; 1 or 2 is enough.

How is your libido?

Does viagra make you stuffed up at all?

Oh shit bro, complete the survey

Yes, viagra very stuffed up, levitra somewhat stuffed up, cialis somewhat stuffed up. I use nasonex.

My libido is about 50% of what it was pre-finasteride and pre-accutane if all the things I mentioned in my post are working well and in alignment. Otherwise libido can be for me as low as 0/nonexistent.

What are your best values for total, free testosterone and estradiol? I have low estradiol, and therefore low libido. I need to put it in the middle.

I tend to feel good and better libido and better erectile functioning when my total testosterone is 500 to 700, and my estradiol is around 30.

Curious, what’s optimal free-t for you?

How long have you used Testosterone for? Do you feel that the effects were stronger when you first tried it? Has effectiveness been maintained throughout your course of usage?

After 22 years of having this and managing this and my hormones, I do not put a lot of stock in Free Testosterone. Here is why. I have taken good amounts and even larger amounts of supplemental Testosterone by injection or topical. When I have done so, and take too much, my Free Testosterone reading is higher and higher, but I don’t get any of the benefits. IOW, I am putting too much T into my body and it is not helping me.

I feel some relief when my Free T is within range, not below normal, but it does not need to be in the higher 1/3 or 1/2 of the range for me to feel okay.

Free Testosterone is just free floating in the blood. Getting numbers higher just because it sounds good to do so is kind of like people taking a statin that lowers their cholesterol in their blood but it does not have a real effect on what is happening inside the blood vessels or heart.

Do you use an AI to control estrogen? Or do you just inject more frequently?

Injecting T did not bump up my DHT so I stopped injections.

I also stopped AIs because they are too powerful and drove my estrogen too low. Which negated everything!
