Terp03's Blood Tests

These are pre-SP. I will have post-SP by next week:

Note T4 Free is 1.32
Bloodwork Pre-SP1.doc (718 KB)

Here’s some results as of 2/15/08. I will have a full hormonal profile soon (awaiting results)

Prolactin, serum 3.5 ng/mL (2.0-18.0)
TSH 0.75 uIU/mL (0.40-4.50)

Note that TSH was ~1.30 pre-SP. That’s quite a drop. Any input? Again, I’ll have a full hormonal profile up by next week.

Here are some of my results from 2/19/08 @ 8:30am

More results coming by next week

Your T-levels look really low. I don’t remember your story, but did your problems start after quitting? LH and FSH look lowish (secondary hypogonadism).

Well my Total T before SP was 428, so I guess I naturally had low testosterone. But yeah, my problems arose (or dramatically increased) after stopping. In fact, I think things have got worse since I’m not sleeping as well, my eyes are dryer than ever (with increased # of floaters), and am suffering from increased brainfog/dizziness. I hate this.

Dunno, ask your doc. All I know is that low LH and FSH after fin seems common and you have those too.

Low, investigate adrenal function further… ie, ACTH stim test.

LH low, FSH out of range low – investigate hypothalamus & pituitary function to check for primary or secondary hypogonadism. hCG stim test or GnRH test would be applicable.

Get a sperm/fertility test done to check fertility due to low FSH.

Overall, low… likely due to low LH.

You need to test SHBG to evaluate Free T, if SHBG is high that would explain why your Free T is low (it gets bound to SHBG).

Estradiol at 32 may still be high-ish for you, according to lef.org optimal for men is 20-30.

Work with a doc on investigating HTPA and adrenal function further.

SHBG 40 (7-49 nmol/L)
DHT 43 (25-75 ng/dL)

.

Here are my latest results before I saw Shippen

I will have more post-Clomid results posted once I receive them from the labs - some were not available yet due to the processing of the more complex tests.

I’m no expert, but your DHEA is very high, obviously, and you have out of range high cortisol. You should investigate Adrenal function/testing further (DHEA, DHEA-S, ACTH, AM/PM or 24-hr cortisol, aldosterone, corticotropin-releasing hormone, progesterone 17-OH, etc.).

According to merck.com/mmpe/sec12/ch153/ch153d.html

… elevated DHEA and Androstenedione suggests Adrenal Hyperplasia:

However, because you have ELEVATED cortisol (it is usually decreased in adrenal hyperplasia, from what I’ve read), not sure what’s going on there… although this is interesting:

Also, Cushing’s Syndrome is another area to possibly look at:

Do some googling, see what you can find. And I am not by any means saying you even have any of the above. But I’d focus on further adrenal tests, based on the above results.

Pure stress can elevate cortisol, I think you are fine in that department. But be sure to get it checked, you don’t want to guess when it comes to your health.
