Suicides Attributed to PFS

I’m compiling some data and need to know confirmed cases of suicides as a result of PFS.

So far I have:

Dr. Daniel M. Stewart: 1976-2014
Randy Santmann: 1986-2008

Do we know any more? It’s very important for the project I’m putting together.

I do wonder how many on this site have unfortunately committed suicide, and how it’s a shame they died in vain if the death was never attributed to Propecia. It would be useful to have a way to monitor this, e.g. next of kin contact for those who express such thoughts.

Also, I imagine the families of PFS suicide victims who are well off financially are where a lot of the donations to the foundation’s medical research comes from.

If you read up on John Pfaff, he was worth like $25 million.

Simply put, theses families don’t want other innocent men dying needlessly for some frivolous reason like hair loss.

Thanks, loathe as I am to turn individual tragedies into statistics, for the purposes of my project I am up to 3. If anyone knows of further known suicides, please respond.

There was a guy I used to talk to often with the username Megazoid. He posted at many forums. We both had the same issues, but at the time did not know what caused it and why nothing seemed to work to fix it. He used Propecia and I used Saw Palmetto. He was very depressed for years and often talked of suicide. I have not been able to get a hold of him in years and I do believe that he ended his life before he even knew that he had PFS. I am sure there are hundreds of other guys who did the same.

There are certainly hundreds who ended their lives with PFS and not even knowing it was the cause of their depression…

Your 100% correct, especially as the side effects label here in the Uk was only changed in 2012 to now include (low mood) low mood my arse… More like crippling depression and suicidal ideation including suicide images flashing through my mind 24/7 at the height of my crash.

I am glad they let you keep your job in law enforcement… I was not so lucky. The United States is a culture based on self determination and I think the government viewed me as weak and useless. Losing my career during my crash was extremely devastating, and my management did not give a damn about if I killed myself or not… great people we have running the show over here… that’s sarcasm in the extreme of course.

These posts are from late April 2014. It was around 500 people on the list then. Now it’s almost 750.
