Studies???

Are there at the moment any studies to find a cure. I can’t find anything on the site.

All i can read is about two studies from the date September2015.
Brigham and Women’s Hospital: a Preliminary Hypothesis-Generating Investigation of the PFS
Baylor College of Medicine: Genetic and Epigenetic Studies of PFS.

Somebody wrote about results in this year from a studie. Don’t know which studie.

It suck it seems there is no research at the moment for a cure.

Good luck folks

Hi there, there are 2 studies at the moment. The Baylor study should be released by end of year and then followed by Prof Melchangi: http://www.pfsfoundation.org/news/possible-epigenetic-changes-pfs-patients-focus-new-clinical-study/

They won’t provide a cure but hopefully will reveal the biological mechanism of pfs which will then hopefully lead to the development of new treatments.

The foundation needs all the support it can and so if you are able to donate even a small amount each month it will definitely help: http://www.pfsfoundation.org/donate/

Thank you very much for your answer.!

I don’t want to sound pessimistic, but IF they find the biological mechanism of pfs then we need to cooperate with a company that is willing to produce a medicine. That will take 10 years of clinical trials and a budget that doesn’t seem to like the pfs foundation can affort.

Nevertheless i donated 100 dollar and will donate in the future if there is still progress.

Cheers.

Your welcome. I know what you mean and there is some unknowns.
There may be treatments or combinations of drugs that may already be able to help. The biological mechanism will help point in the right direction doctors and researchers in providing treatment. There’s also drugs being produced such as Sage 217 due in 3 years which may help, but are being developed for other conditions such as depression. There is also increasingly a belief that this condition is related to other conditions and people who have had side effects from
Accutane and anti depressants and that will help with funding and further research. There’s a possibility that CRISPR gene editing may be needed, and this is promising but still being developed. That’s great that you made a donation :):grinning: I’m also donating $50 a month. All the funding helps and I look forward to the studies being released.

Thanks again!

I hope we will not be dependant of CRISPR. That will take a few decades before it’s developed for medical use. Hopefully something else will be the key in the near future.

Ciao.
