stopped meds 72 hours ago

hello all, I am looking for inspiration however not sure what I am going to get. I stated taking finastoride eight weeks ago. I noticed symptoms about one two weeks ago and quite taking the meds 72 hours ago. The main symptoms I had brain fog and a disconnect with penis. Also my penis was cold and felt empty. After stoping my is gone but penis is messed up. My penis is the lest sensitive part of my body. If I put something cold up to my penis it does no feel cold, but feels cold to my hand.

Please any advice! How can tell if this is permanent or temporary. What are my chances this is going go away? The last three days of reading all this stuff on the web is very scary for me. I would really like to have someone to chat with. So if anyone has a lot experience with this issues and is willing to provide support I would be most greatfull. I am currently deployed to Afghanistan and this so much more scary then being out here. Please someone tell me anything uplifting!

Your chance of recovery is very very good, we are for the most part the very unfortunate few for whom the sides are permanent. In all likelyhood you will recover in a few weeks and be alright, if not, or if you crash, come back here.

Day four: Scheduled appointment with doctor. penis is looking back to normal again. No erection no drive but feeling optimistic. Took a xanx to relax

Hi Buddy
I was in the same situation as you, young and with a brief usage of fin.

I was SCARED to death after i saw this forum.
There are many people who recover just fine.
Luckily for me i stopped right before i became a student, so short time after comming off (and now) i have a long summer vacation to chill.
My best advice is to RELAX and do not stress about your sides, there will much likely subside with the time.
Take some time off, to do nothing just chill. Eat healthy, sleep plenty - play some soccer with your freinds.
And please dont look at this forum everyday, it makes your brain go nuts and the placebo effect will fuck you up like it did to me.
Come back every 1 month and update us. Hopefully you will be fine!

I highly doubt it is so much any placebo effect and more so the FACT that finasteride can and does in many of us cause anxiety and depression, plain and simple. Thus the side effects feed directly into one another. You experience anxiety and depression sometimes without even realizing it at the same time you are getting hit with the horrendous sexual side effects which start driving you nuts, round and round you go becoming more and more freaked out.

For me getting away from the forum only helped slightly for awhile, trying to relax and lots of time (several months is what helped) and the anxiety and depression faded considerably. However the downstairs isn’t much better than it was the month after I stopped.

The human mind is strong as steel when its not being altered by the effects of finasteride. There are many guys here who experienced a freak out period initally too in the beginning of their suffering, the mental side effects exacerbate this to the extreme… as the mind returns to normal you can more easily “cope” with any sexual or physical side effects that persist… as troublesome as they might be.

Is there a very good “Does and Don’t” list for the fist few weeks of Finastride. Things i have read so for can be contradictory:

Do’s:
Masturbate
workout/exercise
Sleep
eat well
Edging- masturbating up to point of near orgasm and stop

Don’t:
Orgasm
workout/exercise
Stress out
read forum horror stories

A good list of the right things to that would limit my chances of crashing in 3 weeks would be really nice to have.

Thank you

Does anyone have a Do’s and Don’t list for the first three weeks coming of this stuff? When do you know you are in the clear? One month, Two months, A year?

Anyone have any thoughts on taking Vitamin E 1000IU, Vitamin D3, and/or a Multivitamin right after stopping meds to help limit the chances of permeant damages to the body.
