Steve033 bloodtest

Hello All

I am a new member and just posted my story in the member section. Here is my latest blood test. Please feel free to comment. I’m desperate. Thanks Steve

T4 Free 1.47 (0.82-1.77 ng/dL)
LH 5.5 (1.7-8.6 mlU/mL)
FSH 2.9 (1.5-12.4 mlU/mL)
Prolactin 6.4 (4.0-15.2 ng/mL)
Prostate Specific Ag. Serum 1.1 (0-4.0 ng/mL)
Testosterone Serum 642 (280-800 ng/dL)
TSH 3.2 (0.450-4.500 ulU/mL)

DHT and FT3 are missing. testosterone seems to be normal.
after how many weeks or months the test was taken after stopping fin.
your blood will change a lot for at least 6 - 12 months before stabilizing.

Steve, I didn’t realize you had posted your blood panel here. I responded to your original thread. Your missing a lot of important hormones.

Most importantly, Free Testosterone is very important. Get it added to your blood panel. No one can simply look at your total testosterone and tell you your T levels are adequete without knowing what your free Testosterone is.

Your total T is binded to other proteins within your body and not available for use. This is why seeing the Free Testosteroen level is so important.

You only of Free T4, you need Free T3 as well. Also, try to add Reverse T3 as well to your test. You need all of these to understand if you have potentially have a thyroid issue.

Additionally Add Estradiol and SHBG. These also seem to be high in many of us. Getting your Estradiol level down can also help you.

At a minimum add those to your next test.

I have posted before and have been lurking for a while. I took propecia for about 4-5 years in the mid 2000’s and got off sometime in 2008. Been suffering side effects since then. NOTHING has helped. Switched doctors 3 times. No one believes propecia is to blame. This is my blood test from 2 years ago.

T4 Free 1.47 (0.82-1.77 ng/dL)
LH 5.5 (1.7-8.6 mlU/mL)
FSH 2.9 (1.5-12.4 mlU/mL)
Prolactin 6.4 (4.0-15.2 ng/mL)
Prostate Specific Ag. Serum 1.1 (0-4.0 ng/mL)
Testosterone Serum 642 (280-800 ng/dL)
TSH 3.2 (0.450-4.500 ulU/mL)

My last doctor wanted to test my thyroid. Here’s my last 2 tests for this.

4/20/12
TSH 3.860 (0.450-4.500 uIU/mL)
Thyroxine (T4) 4.9 (4.5-12.0 ug/dL)
T3 Uptake 39 (24-39%)
Free Thyroxine Index 1.9 (1.2-4.9)

2/21/12

TSH 5.580 (0.450-4.500 uIU/mL)
T4, Free (Direct) 0.92 (0.82-1.77 ng/dL)

Each doctor would not order any more blood work. I have around $250 to spend myself on additional tests. I have listed the tests and prices that MEW has on his short list. I plan to use Private MD Labs. Just wanted to ask what would be the best bang for my money. Thanks. This is really hard.

Total Testosterone -$44.49 ($89.49 if combined with Free Testosteron)
Free Testosterone -$68.49
Bioavailable Testosterone – wasn’t listed
Androstenedione -$49.49
DHT -$119.99
3alpha-diol G (Androstenediol glucuronide – (“Adiol-G” for short): metabolite of DHT, measures 5AR-II activity -$169.99
Estradiol (E2) -$47.99
LH -$44.49 ($54.99 if combined with FSH)
FSH -$44.49
SHBG -$44.49
Prolactin -$44.49
TSH -$44.49

There is a trend here, your TSH is going up. What did your docs says about this?

Elevated TSH can indicate hypothyroidism and treating it should relieve it’s symptoms, some of which may be a factor in your situation.

Guidelines have changed for TSH ranges, anything more than 3.0 should be considered suspect hypothyroidism:
thyroid.about.com/cs/testsforthyroid/a/newrange.htm
thyroid.about.com/cs/testsforthyroid/a/labs2003.htm

Your Total Testosterone levels in 2010 were quite high, which is a good sign… although it would be good to know if they have remained at that level or dropped since. Similarly it would be nice to know what your DHT levels are at some stage.

Regardless, 3-adiol G is probably the most important marker you can test for, as many guys with longterm issues seem to suffer from abnormally low values. Even though it is the most expensive test, it would be worth finding out.

Your TSH seems to be following an upward trend so if you want to track it, you could test for that. Noticed you don’t have estradiol, that would be important to see if the drug left you with elevated estrogen levels.

Out of the items you listed I would choose from:

Total Testosterone -$44.49 ($89.49 if combined with Free Testosterone)
3alpha-diol G (Androstenediol glucuronide – (“Adiol-G” for short): metabolite of DHT, measures 5AR-II activity -$169.99
DHT -$119.99
Estradiol (E2) -$47.99
TSH -$44.49

My Dr. put me on synthroid but that has only made me feel worse. I am going back to see him tomorrow to check on my latest blood test done last Tuesday. I’ll write back tomorrow when I get those numbers. I am going to take your advice and will ask him once again if he could order the additional tests. If not I will order them myself. I hope the results point to something that I can take back to him to show that this is not in my head. Thanks

try non-synthetic like armour. many claims armour better than syn.

order a siliva test without your doc that will clearly show free hormone levels.

Just got these back today. I had to go through Labcorp because my doctor wouldn’t prescribe these for me.

3A Androstanediol-G 385 ng/dl Range (190-900)
Testosterone, Serum 685 ng/dl Range 348-1197
Estradiol 20.8 Range (7.6-42.6)
TSH 3.650 (0.450-4.500 uIU/mL)
Thyroxine (T4) 5.2 (4.5-12.0 ug/dL)
T3 Uptake 36 (24-39%)
Free Thyroxine Index 1.9 (1.2-4.9)

Still suffering sides. Interrupted sleep, no libido, fatigue, weight gain. Any advice? I’ll take any tests. Money is not an issue. Please feel free to suggest anything. Thanks

Ron

Siliova tests to show free levels clearly.

steve033 why did you stop propecia? Do you feel your sides got worse after stopping?

I was on propecia for about 5 years or so. The only side effects at first were watery semen and some nut ache. I felt that my libido soared at first and had lots of oily skin. The last year I was on it I felt a slight dip in libido. I found this site and read the problems that this drug could cause. I started to wean myself off of it but crashed hard. I haven’t been the same since. It’s been about 3 years and I still have problems. Just got back from vacation and got lots of sun (vitamin D). Strange thing though is after a couple of days in the sun I noticed I had a strange twitching in the head of my penis that lasted 2 days or so. I had this once a long time ago but for a short time. This time it lasted 2 straight days without stopping. I think the next thing I will get tested will be cortisol.

you must do siliva. And also do the siliva hormones when your doing that.
