Start propecia again?

Has anyone returned to the drug, and if so, have the withdrawal symptoms subsided?
Are there new symptoms?

Do some research before asking redundant questions. Going back on drug is not advised.

ok. I’m just wondering if anyone has gone back on and felt better (and stopped losing hair). thanks…

Nobody cares about hair here anymore, if that is your concern please visit hairloss sites.

If you quit and have side effects, going back on the drug and inhibiting 5AR2/DHT again will not make you feel better. Those who have “tried” what you suggest only ended up worse off in the end, setting themselves back to square one and erasing any recovery progress they had made up till that point.

I WOULD NEVER TOUCH THAT PIECE OF POISON EVER AGAIN IN MY LIFE…STAY AWAY!

i appreciate the thoughts. and think it’s probably not worth it. has anyone tried rogaine afterwards?
i know this is not a hairloss site, per se, but it has served - and continues to serve - as a support group. we are all struggling.

The drug is a poison drug. I took the drug for a number of years and then decided to quit. I had quit the drug for about 7 months and then I foolishly began taking it again.

I can tell you, I had all kinds of sides while on it. I became hypogonadal when I quit and when I went back on I remained hypogonadal. Believe me this horrible drug is not the answer.

ok. I’m convinced. not going back on. thanks for the perspectives.

is there anyone who can tell me about experiences transitioning onto rogaine?

your at the wrong place if you still care about hair loss. Please only post here if you are experiencing a significant MENTAL or PHYSICAL ISSUE not a cosmetic one. this is a place for people with MEDICAL ISSUES. hair loss is now TRIVIAL to us. Thank you!

bostonusa: how long did you stay on it when you returned to it?

I’m not 100% of the exact amount of time, but guessing I would say maybe a year and half. Again, I had a ton of issues when on it. Now looking back on it I became full blown hypogonadal when I quit, then it pretty much stayed the same when I went back on it.

I am far from perfect now, but I am a ton better than I was more than a year ago. Still trying to get my sex drive back and normal functioning in this department.

I quit once after about 1 year because I went to ER with some sort of panic attack in the middle of the night and just stopped everything I was doing/taking. Looking back, i had symptoms on it, but not once off it, but had not connected the dots and and after several weeks went back on it. Also ran out for several days and was off at one point. This stopping/starting may be part of my issue as well. but I guess I will never know. When I was off for a couple of weeks and returned to normal, this underscored in my mind that the side I knew about. ED & GYNO must, in fact, be temporary. I actually chased the brain fog and fatigue as separate and unrelated issues and never correlated them to FIN till much much later
.

My GYNO has never gone way…It’s been 8 hours…After i get my erectile functioning back 100% i intend on getting the gyno fixed.

8 hours…that’s a long time lol. I stopped and started in 08 and recovered pretty much fully before going on again within a couple of months, didn’t corelate symptoms with the drug. Big mistake.

I also started and stopped. I remember being much, much better after stopping the first time. But after the second time, well, not so much. Biggest mistake of my life.

i really appreciate this advice.

so the brain fog went away? and any advice for the sex drive? (I just got back from the doctor and my testosterone is low (7, and 213) and I’m a little freaked)

questionguy:
how long did the brain fog and fatigue last?

Can you say the “tons of issues” you had while back on it? Did ANYTHING (other than hair) get better when you did that? Thanks man.

If we can’t recover from the side effects anyway, why not just get back on the drug and at least maintain the hair?

I don’t know about you, but even though I’m not 100% now, I’m closer to it then I ever was on the drug. Not to mention the completely depressed and hopeless feelings I had while taking it. I think you are insane for even considering it after all you’ve learned from this site. I’m mean to even think that, man…pull it together.
