Some views from long time finasteride takers

Hi guys,

As mentioned on numerous occasions I took the poison for nigh on 20 yrs without realising it was the cause of all of my symptoms. Id say I’ve now been clean for well over 1 year. I have all symptoms and some. The anxiety low mood etc are the biggest hitters for me. Despite the odd small window of restbite due to supps or diet I have always returned to my very low baseline. I feel that I am continuing to deteriorate even though I feel it couldn’t get any worse. My question is, for any fellow sufferers who took the drug for a similar period of time, when if any, after how long, did you first start to see improvements and how did they present. Just looking for some hope guys. Cheers

the foundation once said its common that you slightly improve after 12-18 months. so you still have 6 months for that. also the baylor study will get published soon so dont lose hope

I am 2.5 years out (after 8 years of Finasteride) and I have not improved at all. However, I recently started using Tribulus and I am seeing a positive effect with a high enough dose. It is a small effect but it makes a difference when the baseline is zero. I am trying to see if I can date/have sex which will make a big difference for quality of life going forward. Will report when I reach a conclusion. Bottom line is don’t lose hope.

May I ask what kind of improvements you noticed with Tribulus?

You should look into Tribestan, heard it does wonders due to the protodiocins it has.

I will check it out and compare with the current brand I am taking, although I am happy with the current brand.

The main improvement is improved libido and everything else follows from that - spontaneous erections, improved erections, slightly stronger orgasms, more motivation, more optimism, more reasons to look to forward to the future, less anhedonia, less depression, higher self-esteem, more positive social experiences including dating, etc etc etc. I have argued before that in my opinion most symptoms of PFS stem from the sexual symptoms.

I will write a detailed post about my experience with Tribulus in a couple of weeks. If you don’t want to wait, try it. I myself wish I had tried it earlier. I wasted too much precious times waiting to get better on my own. Private message me and I’ll tell you what brand I am taking.

P.S. Don’t expect a miracle. The effect is small but definitely real (not a placebo) and likely significant ie makes a difference in my life. I am still evaluating it.
