SMSNA/ISSM Meeting in August - Chicago

Anyone happen to have any more info on the Conference in Chicago that took place recently? It looks like propecia side effects was a main topic… Thank God.

There’s also a video posted in the link above.

Sort of managed to google my way into possibly the member area. A little more info but not much. I’m sure my Urologist attended and included me in this mini-study. Wish I knew the next steps they were taking.

Edit: can’t seem to directly link up the finasteride topic that I found. It’s located on Wednesday Afternoon, podium 9. Click on the abstract.

I put in a call to a doctor I’ve seen who was involved in the meeting concerning finasteride to get some information on what was discussed. He’s out of the country at the moment but is scheduled to be back next week. I’ll update here after I speak to him.

If the problem is permanent many will commit suicide including me.

Delux for those who have been suffering from PFS for a while, the problem is permanent…but that doesn’t mean that it can’t be fixed. We’re working on discovering what has actually happened to us (i.e. a root cause) to figure out exactly how we can counteract it (if we can). Or at least, that’s my understanding of the current situation.

I have a 12 and I have 32 years. Four years to stop taking it.

Well, my doctor won’t talk to me about the conference unless I go in for an appointment, and unfortunately I’m not living in the area of his office any longer, so seeing him is out of the question right now. Blue Jays, I think you said your doctor attended the Las Vegas Sexual Medicine conference earlier in the year. Do you think you could check in with him to see what happened at the Chicago conference? Presumably, he was there, too.

I don’t have any more appointments with him. My Urologist is supposedly on his list… He made it sound like he touches base with those on the list. I can follow up. Probably take at least a few months.
