Sleep and recovery

Few days ago i remembered that one guy who claimed he has recovered after one night of long sleep- like 14- 15 hours, something like that. Since than i am trying to find that post, but without success. Can anyone post the link here ? I would be very grateful.

I am certain that (lack of) sleep does have noticeable effect on me (regarding pfs sides). And we know that lack of sleep increases cortisol and that during sleep brain recovers from daily stress etc. So, i am thinking about taking some pills to prolong sleep over that normal 8 hours, which i am able to get now without much problems…

Good luck. I have used many different sleep aids. Slept many hours with no changes.

Well… Your best bet would be to sleep your normal 8 hours, so you can get a good normal sleep. This will insure your sleep architecturs for 8 hours will remain unchanged. Your normal sleep is probably deep and restorative since u dobt have any sleep complaints.

Only Then you should take some sleep aid to sleep somemore.

You should get a sleep aid that improves stage 3 and 4 of sleep. There’s many options that are prescription. The only thing i found otc that is known to improve deep sleep is glycine. 1 to 3 gr glycine and you’ll fall asleep.

Im not sure this is a good idea though. . 14-15 hours is quite a lot

Maybe ask the doctor and ask him as well of he agrees in prescribing something…

Take 45 MG of Remeron. That will put you down for a long time. You can google the studies but I am pretty it improves sleep architecture.

Thats too much remeron,. 45mg is a dosage for depression not for insomnia. Its also a very big dosage for first time! Dont do this…
The way mirtazapine (remeron) acts on insomnia is by blocking histaminic receptors and 5ht2a receptors, and for that 15mg is enough.
mirtazapine helps insomnia from as low as 3,5mg. Anywhere from 3,5 up until 15mg should be more than enough to make you sleep a lot, especially if u dont have a tolerance.
It will give you more deep sleep too especially if u have insom i
Im having success with 3mg a night of mianserin. 8.5hours of sleep every night for the past 5 days.

bad news for you. I recovered from insomnia and I´m sleeping very well now. I wake up fully rested.

still PFS = No libido

So what did you do to recover from insomnia?

No, no, i didn’t claim long sleep will cure any of us here. I just said lack of sleep significantly impacts all my pfs symptoms (it even causes more shrinkage etc), and i really wanted to find the post from that lucky guy.

And thanks everyone for recomendations, i’ll look into it.

several short water fast(months). The max was 4 days. No drugs needs to my recovery.

i drink only water. just water. No milk, no juice, no coofee, no soda, no alcohol, no tea, no whey protein/casein.
I don´t eat beakfast anymore. Just lunch and dinner. Trying to eat less and extend the fast do 12 hours a day. Eat between 12:00 and 23:00.

eat meat, bread, fruits, eggs. nuts, vegetables. No dairy and even whey and supplements.

Now i´m trying a new diet, just to experimentation. if it works, I’ll post the results here new topic.

I suffered for years with insomnia. is a tremendous relief to recover.

I am currently taking up new direction for my life and I’m walking in search of my goals again.
