Has anyone experienced a recovery of sleep and dreams? My sleep has improved to 100 percent in the last year. Just this month I’ve realized that my dreams are now full and vivid. I never really lost by ability to dream, but I guess I never realized that the quality of my dreams was compromised in a big way. I have to tell you that after 3.5 years post crash, my sleep and dreams are in really good shape. I am really happy about this. Also, I used to get a very strange feeling in my head the first thing in the morning. Almost like a slight pressure in the middle of my forehead and a slight dizzy, sick in the head feeling. This has now gone away. I had the strange feeling for a solid 1.5-2 years. Then it would come and go, but was still getting it a lot. Now it seems to be gone. I can’t remember the last time this happened.
I have vivid dreams all the time, my sleep is back to normal. I have made no recovery in other areas.
Proscarred- yes, loss or lack of dreams (along with poor sleep) happens to many sufferers including myself. When I am having upward swings my sleep is better and I dream, in fact I have dreamt with some vivid dreams the last 7 night in a row which is to me incredibly hopeful.
With regards to that pressure you feel, I think you just located the Rosetta Stone of our condition. I believe all problems stem from there, prefrontal cortex with change in brain metabolism.
All the time I was on fin I had no dreams what soever. I only began to dream again months after I stopped taking it.
Its obviously something related to the brain…Im excited to see what your flood with ibogaine will turn out to be
Sleep was by far my worst non-sexual side. 15 months post-crash now, and I can also say my sleep has improved, on average. I still have bad nights, but nothing like the first 6 months after my crash. At my worst, I was getting 4 hours of broken sleep a night. Now, I can sleep straight up to 6 hours, then wake up, sleep another 45 mins, wake up again, and sleep another 45 mins. Unfortunately, I still wake up with a rapid heart beat often. I also have myoclonic sleep jerks, although these have declined.
As far as dreams, I dream almost every night. I even go in spurts where I have erotic dreams for several nights in a row. Unfortunately, my daytime libido is still low-to-none.
I don’t have as many PFS theories as some on here, But I do believe our sleep issues are neurotransmitter or receptor-related.
