I’m wondering if I should contact the Doctor who Prescribed me Finasteride and tell him about the side effects I have suffered from the drug? The Doctor is a nice guy but a bit naive, I’m thinking that any further contact I have with him or his clinic should be through a lawyer.
No, if you have side effects from a drug your doctor prescribed you need to report them to him in addition to other parties such as a national healthcare agency and others as you see fit. It’s important to tell your doctor so he/she doesn’t continue thinking that you had no side effects and assuming the drug is safe.
Report your sides very specifically and be sure they are on record with the doctor for a wide variety of important reasons. Ask for a copy of his notes stating this too to keep with your personal medical files. If you had bad shrinkage or complete ED it’s easy to obsess on that and forget to mention muscle waste, cognitive problems, etc. once you get to the doctor. You don’t want you know who to claim you’re “piling on” down the road when that day comes.
I wrote a letter to the doctor who Prescribed me Finasteride detailing my side effects and have been met by silence which I find very sinister. He did not even acknowledgement he got my letter.
I thought the doctor was a decent man but it seems he was just a good salesman who could’nt care less about my health.
It looks like that the only way this doctor or his hair loss clinic will do anthing to help me is if I protest outside the clinic as it would give them bad PR.
you should keep writing to him and other concerned departments also yes protest ouside his clinic. do whatevere possible, don’t care about PR. the more goes on air the better it is. If he does not care today he will do tomorrow when more people will complain after seeing you. please don’t get discrouged, move forward as long as there is no harm legal way or phyisically.
I dont see the point in writing to him when he just ignores me completely he obviously knows fin is dangerous.
I think any further communication I have with him should be through a lawyer.
The hair loss clinic I went to cliam that “100%” of men recover from any problems they have with Finasteride after they stop using it. I’m living proof that 100% of men do not recover. At the very least they should be done for false advertising.
Is there a way of you “screen-grabbing” that as evidence as it were? Especially if they are still saying this after you informing them differently.
send a friend to them, with a mic and a recorder. Make sure he asks them the right questions. and get the “wrong” answers.
that is actually not a bad idea … i went to bosley, and they claim on their commercial they had a “natural” solution to hair loss, every word was an absolute lie, things like “all men recover within three weeks of quitting”, and " a great way to avoid ever getting prostate cancer", just to name a few. They pass out finasteride like it is candy and lie about it completely. it would be great to nail these people, as they are in on the scandal as well, all in the name of profit.
The clinic has finally agreed to meet me. I think they are only doing this for PR reasons so if I ever go to the media they can say that they tried to “help” me.

they agree to meet you wow… and than? They will tell you this cant be and you need other help.
Once I realized Propecia was a dangerous drug, I began telling ALL my doctors about its permanent side effects, whether they believed me or not.
I would suggest that ALL PFS victims do the same.
Because we know that what we’re saying IS true, and eventually medical research will bear us out. And at that point, even the naysayers among our doctors will be forced to acknowledge that Propecia is poison and should NEVER be prescribed for something as trivial as hair loss.
In the meantime, I would hope at least some of those doctors exercise caution when considering prescribing Propecia, lest THEY be liable for knowingly damaging their patients’ health.
As for Merck CEO Kenneth C. Frazier, he, by defending Vioxx, already demonstrated that he lacks a heart. So it is too late for him. Just assume he will continue in his role as the Dr. Josef Mengele of the 21st Century.
