shaf9 blood test results

Got the doctor to do some check up on my testosterone. here are the results

total testosterone:644 (250 - 1100ng/DL)
free t : 106.9 (46.0 - 224.0 pg/ml)
bioavailable t: 238.4 (110.0 -575.0 ng/dl)
SHBG: 26 (10-50 nmol/L)

What other tests can i do? The doctor said everything seemed normal. I tried ordering the progesterone and prolaction and he said those weren’t necessary. Also the FSH and LH were precursors of Testosterone and my testosterone was normal. He also mentioned estradiol was made in the ovaries and not necessary of testing. Cortisol testing he said would only be efficient with a urine panel which he couldn’t do. So where do i from here?

I have fatigue, weakness, low libido, joint pain, muscle weakness, weight gain.

can anyone help?

Finasteride is known to disrupt the androgen/estrogen ratio in men to be in favor of estrogen, hence the warning for GYNECOMASTIA and MALE BREAST CANCER being added to the label. There are studies about this, as noted here:

If you want to argue with your doc about it, bring printouts, as well as the latest Propecia prescribing info:

There are more tests you can do, such as “ultrasensitive estradiol”, TSH, prolactin, 3a-diol G etc, but if you have a doctor who is uncooperative, you’ll be out of luck.

If you want to test more hormones, either find another doc who will, or pay for the tests yourself.

There’s a list of labs here:

Find a new doctor.

Fatigue and weight gain, huh? You clearly have a metabolic problem, so you must test thyroid and cortisol. Low libido is likely caused by high E2, which you haven’t tested.

You need: FT3, FT4, RT3, TSH, and a saliva panel for cortisol (x4 samples)

I bet you’ll find some issues there.

Sorry but this is buuuuuuullshit. If this was the case this forum would not exist.
