Saliva testing?

Has anyone tried the saliva testing? How does one get results? Do you buy the kit online at somewhere like zrtlab.com/Page.aspx?hid=411 and then just test it yourself, or do you then have to like send it into a lab somewhere?
And also, is that $150 cost a one time deal, or do you have a kit you can test your T with over and over?

I think I would like to find out how I can get efficient, affordable, accurate, regular T tests.

Does anyone have details on some options?

Thanks,
B

I don’t know what you idea of affordable is, since these tests tend to be expensive, but Dr. Crisler conducts most of his tests via Rhein Laboratories: http://www.rheinlabs.com. You collect your urine for 24 hours and then send it to them for analysis. They measure a whole bunch of hormones which are listed on their website. I don’t know if you get a discount as a patient of Dr. Crisler’s or not, but I paid $300 for testing everything they offer to test.

how bout cheaper T and just a few others - tests??

And are there any that you can just do at home, or is the equipment just too sophisticated I wonder??

I suppose maybe $300 for all stuff may sound like a bargain, no??

The price for the tests did vary based on what all you got tested. I know that the T3 and T4 thyroid hormone tests added like $75 to the cost of my tests, but you can’t pick and choose everything. I think the minimum it will cost you going through Rhein labs is like $200. They send you a kit that contains urine collection jugs and also tubes to return the samples to the labs in.
