Rickydlee's story

MY REACTION TO PROPECIA:

When I was 27-years-old, I took Propecia for four months back in 2002 as prescribed by my doctor to treat hair loss. I had to stop taking the drug due to increasing acne outbreaks, feeling strange, and a plummeting libido. After coming off the drug, my libido did not return to pre-drug levels contrary to what my doctor and the drug company Merck claimed! My energy level had also become quite low, my attraction to women had dropped, and I now found it really hard to concentrate. I was barely able to have sex, and worse than that, sex didn’t even feel good anymore! I have not taken Propecia since. Now, four years later in the winter of 2007, my problems have only slightly improved. My energy level and ability to concentrate have improved a little, but my libido is still incredibly low, and I’m still generally not physically attracted to women, which scares me.

Many personal accounts which I’ve read in the old Yahoo User Group, and this current message board, are eerily similar to mine. This problem has abruptly changed my life into a sort of living hell for the past four years, and has seriously decreased my quality of life. It has not only affected my relationship with women, but it’s also hampered my professional life due to the low energy level and decreased ability to learn new things.

Like everyone else in this user group, many of the physicians I’ve seen don’t believe my story. And the specialists that DO believe me, and attribute the problem to Propecia, choose not to approach Merck for whatever reason.

List of resulting symptoms and problems:
-low testosterone
-decreased libido & ED
-decreased amount of semen
-watery semen
-lower hanging testicles
-decreased energy
-difficulty concentrating
-some anxiety
-some trouble speaking
-less social & grumpy
-ringing ears
-sore joints
-decreased muscle mass

Please feel free to drop me a quick Email to introduce yourself. I look forward to meeting other sufferers with the same problem, especially ones in or near Toronto. rickydlee22@yahoo.ca

It’s 2013 now and I still haven’t recovered.

Some areas have improved a little, but now 10 years later, I sadly still suffer.
